Been on eBay again :dunno:

  thankfully not! This beauty belongs to my brother in law and not me :shake: :computerterror: we went and had a look at it this afternoon and hand shakes were exchanged.

We have been looking for a long while and inquired about many across the country and beyond! This one is 10 miles from me :schocked: .....isn't it strange how life works sometimes...

Look forward to the roads runs already...

GMC global domination is back on the books.......

Hi abn deuce... yes i have been very busy working on it over the past few weeks...I was given all the metal work for the troop seats and elboes for the bows...all be it they where all very rusty.. so i got my da sander out and fired up my compressor got my spray gun out and painted all the metal work....I bought a whole set of 5 new old ww2 stock bows from rex ward and a whole load of timber for the troop seats. and with the help of jack cut them to size..and sprayed all them to...Now its a cargo/dump...I will post some pics of its progressaion very soon...its all finished now as of today but was not a quick job...however was worth all the hard work and i am very pleased with the end result...Sorry i havent posted much latley about my jimmey or at all as i find it hard to find the time as i am away all week driving trucks for a living....And working on my jimmy at the weekends...Will try and post some pics of it tonight.....Now just need to get that clucth sorted next then its all finnished..

That CCKW is looking really Sweet all the wood and the paint work super job . Love the pics from the drivers side on the airportables it's the best angle to show off the frame modification .

Have you driven your Jimmie with all the jerry cans full of gas yet ? I wondered how much harder it would steer with that extra 20 gallons out there since that adds about 200lbs what with the gas , the gas cans and the steel work , both your Jimmie and mine have winches which is 700 lbs by its self. and theairportable frame and dump body mod. adds 226 lbs.which explains why our trucks aren't as nimble as either regular CCKW Dumps or the even lighternon-winch Cargo Jimmies which weigh in at 10,350lbs. ours at 12,176 lbs. roughly

Hi abn deuce

No i have never driven with the gas can full of fuel though reasons of safety...ie me hitting someone from from behind which could result in a big bag....i am licensed to drive trucks with dangerous goods as i do this for a living.. but not sure if it would apply to me having all that fuel straped to the front bumper of my jimmy...And dont want to find out if stoped by the police....I no normally that if you did not have a hazard goods license you would absolutely not be allowed to carry gas in those cans in this country....However it would be fun to see how it would handle with them full of water....Thanks to for complementing my work on my little project...It took longer than i thought but its nice to have the option of turning it into a cargo if i please....However i have to say i much prefer it as a flat bed tipper.....there are just to many cargos about.. and we you and myself have something special in our airporatable tippers..

A wise observation ! I didn't want to say anything about that possibility as each of us decides whats safe or not.

I like that new first photo you added it like the other two the 6th and 9th photo's also taken on the drivers side . Photo's taken on the passenger side from the front at a slight angle it could be any Jimmie but in a profile shot on the drivers side there no mistaking what a rare Jimmie it is .

Have you been able to raise the partition in the bed ? often the hinge has rusted and seized if the canvas has been off a long time and out in the weather. Hows Your Jimmie doing I see it in the background ?

abn deuce i see like a hatch compartment on my tipper bed and have indeed tryed to pull it open to no avail...i have always wondered what this is for?.....in fact i only mentioned this to jack the other day whilst in the back bolting the timber to the metal work and noticed it again...jack thought that it was maybe a post war mod or something...i have no clue to what it is used for?....however i feel you have the answer as to what its function is and would be pleased to know....I have to say after reading some of your posts over the forum you have far greater knowledge than i have about the airportables....Also would be nice to see more pics of your truck too if you have the time to post some....
