Maurice
Are these jacks supposed to be green ? I have got 4 , and only one was green , the others where black , and no primer underneath.
rampant rivet
I have two 1940 dated jacks both had original light green paint underneath dark olive drab, the green original paint looks the Same shade as Morris commercial engine paint ( there is a crazy expensive one on evil pay at the mo ) as I didn't like that colour I've gone for Morris minor engine green enamel Traces of the original green paint can be seen on my spare jack this will be left in its original condition. I've had a number of these jacks non of them were black.
markyakyak
My Morris commercial jack is that colour, bit like John Deere tractors
rampant rivet
A long but very rewarding day that started at 5.30 am with a trip up to the Dallas dig out then on to the vintage/ 4x4 sale at the Newbury showground where this little gem fell into my possession Yes it's the elusive Bedford MW 15cwt dipstick for the petrol tank, think I'll have some reproductions made 😁
David Herbert
That is a good find ! My MW has a dipstick made of a sort of fibre board, dark grey and completely proof against petrol. Were there two types or was mine home made long ago ? David
64EK26
Hi Jeremey Good to see you at Newbury today .... (I didn't see this when I looked around) I think that there were various types, I was aware of the "fibre" type and the metal type. The only one I have photos os is this (I think it may be fibre) Cheers Richard
rampant rivet
This one is steel but there were fibre ones as well not sure if the fibre type replaced the steel ones or wether they were both produced at the same time, I suppose there is more chance of creating a spark with the steel version ! David David, I don't have one, they were some photos that were sent to me so I knew what I am looking for. So if Jeremey is making some reproductions I will probably have one Cheers Richard

rampant rivet
Everything is fine, life has been busy but good ,moving house building new storage for the MW, I now have the complete collection at home to work and play with.😎 Now the resto of the Bedford is finished apart from routine maintenance there's nowt much to post, planning on taking the Jeep to Normandy next June now I've rebuilt a spare engine for it and I've still got the 43 M20 to restore which now most of the mechanicals are sorted just needs to be stripped down for paint. I'm not planning any more major resto projects as I want to have the time to enjoy what I have rather than spend all my spare time int shed. RR.
