tyler
As the title says, it's off my Quad polsten, but its knackard, does anyone know if there's a modern equivilent? The only markings are 6-M and its a Champion. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3306/qcv4.th.jpg[/img] Thanks. Tyler.
ArtistsRifles
It looks kind of like something you'd get in a lawn-mower, generator or similar such engine. have you tried firms who supply/specialise in these sort of things??? tyler
Yes, Ive spent a week visiting all the motorfactors/farm stores etc but with no success and none had any charts either. There are some on Ebay.com but they are ancient and might not survive postage (if they still work).

You may be lucky here, did a search for 6-m on the Championsparkplugs.com site & here's the result.. http://www.championsparkplugs.com/results_cross.asp?pid=6-m&x=36&y=1 or there's similar on ebay, bit old though.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-SPARK-PLUG-CHAMPION-REG-U-S-3X-PAT-OFF_W0QQitemZ280032483708QQihZ018QQcategoryZ74722QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-VINTAGE-CHAMPION-Spark-Plugs_W0QQitemZ260036575371QQihZ016QQcategoryZ74722QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Champion-Sparkplug-No-4_W0QQitemZ290033435221QQihZ019QQcategoryZ74722QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-SPARK-PLUG-CHAMPION-8-COM-LISTER-D_W0QQitemZ160033414076QQihZ006QQcategoryZ9903QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
Guest matt
Hi Tyler, Don't worry about using old plugs,as long as they are NOS and not used you should be OK,I use 60+ year old plugs and they are often better than the modern ones! What engine is in the Polsten? I'm guessing a Briggs and Stratton? if so which model? Matt.
Richard Farrant
Tyler, I have a 1951 KLG plug book for stationary engines and it gives the Champion 6M as a US made plug, equivalent number for a British Champion was 17. Go to The Green Spark Plug Co., http://www.gsparkplug.com and you will find the modern equivalent of Champion 17 is now D9 with a copper core and they are available at a good price. Only thing is that your picture appears to show the outer body of the plug being short, is this critical or would a normal height plug do?
