Hi Tyler,

Don't worry about using old plugs,as long as they are NOS and not used you should be OK,I use 60+ year old plugs and they are often better than the modern ones!

What engine is in the Polsten? I'm guessing a Briggs and Stratton? if so which model?

Matt.

Tyler,

I have a 1951 KLG plug book for stationary engines and it gives the Champion 6M as a US made plug, equivalent number for a British Champion was 17. Go to The Green Spark Plug Co., http://www.gsparkplug.com and you will find the modern equivalent of Champion 17 is now D9 with a copper core and they are available at a good price. Only thing is that your picture appears to show the outer body of the plug being short, is this critical or would a normal height plug do?

Richard
