Yes, Land Rover in ICIA, but did anybody spot - difficult this one and only for the real experts among us the German tanks in "The Battle of the Bulge", now what were they, hmm.. M47s perhaps? As to "Pearl Harbour"! But then Aegis Cruisers aren't Historic Military Vehicles so perhaps they don't count?

Can I once again recommend this site for those trying to identify vehicles in films.

And I suggest that they should check out the " help identify vehicle" section there and if they know of a vehicle out of place and it is not already listed for a given movie they should post it on the IMCDB site.

I spent three evenings doing that and could only give a possible on one vehicle!

This isn't an enquirey about the wrong vehicles used in films, just wondering where all the Yanky trucks came from for the film "Yanks" ?.

But since you are on about wrong vehicles, there was a Series Land - Rover in Ice Cold in Alex, thats the only one I know apart from the 633 Squadron one. Incedently in the last episode of Darling Buds of May, I think there is a Diamond T wrecker.:embarrassed:

I noticed the Diamond T in Darling Buds of May. It was right at the end of the episode, you just see the ballast body and rear wheels in the shot but I would recognise that arse anywere. :cool2:

What are the vehicles on the Bridge in a bridge too far? There is one that is knocked out which looks like a spartan with exttra superstructure added. Would like to know what they did use for all the vehilces?

amongst other vehicles in this film is an AMX 13 but see link above for full list of those identified so far

But the tank on a bridge you refer to could be a Leopard 1 which I believe did cross a bridge.

I wouldn’t of thought the low pressure fibre liner would of been all that common as jump liner anyway. Only managed to find one so far, they are certainly rarer than most of the high pressure liners.

But agree a fair few post war liners (mostly CAPAC) in the series, i think J.Murry rebuilt most of them.

They had Hawley jumpliners as well as St. Clairs as a stopgap till the better one arrived (Inland and later Westinghouse).

The Hawley jumpliner would still be rare but I'd expect to see 1 or 2.

Just a small detail though.

(not sure if this one has been said but..) On The Dirty Dozen as they are exiting the Château a ferret done in German colours with a turret like piece on top tries to stop them.

On 633 squadron on the training missions where one accidentally crashes into the cliff the officers get into what seems like a land rover partly obscured by a bush.

On the film Catch-22 an m38 jeep is used.

On Battle of the Bulge several m38s are used aswel
