  1. A lightweight is probably the best place to start with your price range. Rough 101's are getting more and more expensive and some parts are getting rare now and expensive too. Quoted yesterday for rear springs if i can get them they will be over £200 each. :schocked: As stated mechanics of the LtWt are mostly standard parts so common and cheap only body panels are ltwt specific, but most are available.
  2. Military tanks should be twin under seat filler tanks, with a change over tap on the seat box to switch between the two. CL spec one's had a standard rear mounted tank.
  3. It was a standard lamp with rotating black out ring used on landrovers, trailers Militants ect to name a few. It was mounted on a bracket on the cross member on Landrovers and the diff pan was painted white.
  4. It will be this site. http://tonyhoare.tripod.com/ Fantastic site.
  5. Simon Stolly currently has a lot of spares available depending on what you need. Hes on here regularly so he might be able to help.

Not going to be able to make it, Little pup dog has been dropped off at the vets to have her tail shortened. She has managed to mangle the end of it. :schocked:

I would have thought the easiest way would be to have a socket made up to which you can plug in a standard trailer board for the rear and similar one for the front. Just run a cable in through the nearest hatch for road use and easy to remove and stow once off the road. When the T55 goes out he normally has a Shorland as an escort front and another car at the rear, to manage junctions and act as lights.
  9. Cool. :-D Would love to have a play in that.
  10. The tdi landrover engines which use Bosch pumps will run fine with Veg oil in the warmer months, but pre tdi engines with lucas pumps its not recomended. For the winter a weaker mix of veg oil or pre heating is required. The best systems start and stop on diesel and use heated veg oil for the rest of the trip. Grasshopper, If the P38a is a pig to start when hot, its not usually the injectors at fault, its the pump. When hot and left standing the fuel in the pump gets hot and alters the viscosity, which the pump cannot handle. The trick is to carry a bottle of water and soak the pump, cooling it and then it will usually start. ;-)

  12. The old landrover method was to use 7 core trailer cable, if your not bothered about it looking right.
  13. David Blaines next magic/con trick?
  14. I am sure this could be said about any major event when its local. I am sure the locals to the War and Peace show hate the traffic and this year mud on the road. The V festival was on last weekend and caused traffic chaos for a weekend around here. At the end of the day its soon over and normality returns Why does the local tax payer have to foot the bill for clean up? Surely thats the responsibility of the event organiser?
  15. You only parked it up there to stop us watering the wheel nuts. :-D

  19. The main mixture screw is the one at the base of the carb facing towards the head, you need a stubby flat screwdriver to adjust it. As for oils, Ep90 is the one you will use gallons of. Diffs, Swivels, gearbox, transfer box, steering box all use it.

  22. Stealing Harry Potters weekend toy proved to be a mistake.
  23. Would agree they are not rover axles. I am thinking that the lever going into the case by the diff could be a part of a locking diff actuator?
