  1. Found some time to do a bit more work on Sunday. Grumpy had already got the fans loose but couldnt lift them out on his own. They were pulled out, swiftly followed by the radiator which gave us loads of room at the front of the engine. Worked around disconecting any obvious pipes and cables and the last to come off were the two big oil pipes. Pig to get at and my shins are a nice colour this morning from being wedged in the hull to get at them. Plan to have a another night at it in the week and then it should be ready to get the engine out.
  2. New plugs would be expensive given that there is currently 3 wide tracks and the Brockhouse in the yard. All the wide tracks are used most weeks so its tiresom having to get the rubber off your hands each time i change trailers.
  3. I am fed up with Black hands from the rubber cover on the Nato plugs. Can never find gloves when i need them so is there anything i can paint on the rubber to stop the black palm? I did wonder if slightly thined PVA glue would do the trick? Any ideas? Ta Jon
  4. Hi Gareth welcome along. :-D Post up a picture of your mog to show Simon what a well looked after one is like. Might have some hiding on this computer from MogStock. Jon.
  5. Sound like a good start, door lock should be flush to the door. Gap around the door top changes with wind speed, but a small shim under the outer edge can help when the doortop gets tired and flappy.
  6. Its a Landrover. I would check the door striker plate first. They tend to move and the door shuts but with a gap.
  7. :-D We were just testing the Mogs capabilities. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Coyneymog/DSC00258.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Coyneymog/DSC00259.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Coyneymog/DSC00257.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Coyneymog/DSC00263.jpg[/img] Jon
  8. Another good reason for owning a swimming Stolly. :-D
  9. :-D Top Truck, puts that shiny Jag to shame.
  10. It was intended to become a mess room for tea breaks between tinkering with the trucks in the barn and double as a camper for shows but it first has to suffer as a mobile tack shed/feed room while we sort more permanent donkey houses. The bins come in hand as she can hide all the horse stuff. Yet to find the one that hides the Jammy Dodgers. :-D
  11. Had a quick nose around the trailer on Sunday. Found another plate with an Wv number on it. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00466.jpg[/img] Quick inside pic, you will have to excuse the horse tack and feed as its soon been took over by swmbo. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00455.jpg[/img]
  12. Welcome along matey, Couldnt stay away after mentioning it on tuesday. :-D Looks like snow and Grumpy having flu has stopped play for today on his Stolly. Catch you later. Jon
  13. If it carries on snowing at this rate i will be looking for a SnowTrac. Always fancied a Haggalund.
  14. My ex piglet 109, is called Bungle partly from the reg and the fact that it used to keep company with a metro called Zippy. :-D The Mk 1 Stolly is called Hedge because thats where it was found hiding.
  15. :-o Ok then Grumpy stick one of those in the Tatra.
  16. I helped strip one that was going to be converted into a second house. Ambulance body is the best starting point. Ready insulated body, fitted lights, fuel fired heater. Poor points are lack of standing room and the space is a premium. Removing the bulkhead btween the body and cab frees alot of room but will affect the insulation in winter. I dont have any pictures of the finished conversion. Another to consider would be a 127 ambulance. Jon.
  17. Alot of places wont touch bigger than car stuff or 4x4 remoulds simply due to the cost of balance weights now. We have to charge for balancing on remoulds but new tyres we will balance for free.
  18. Yep Its post 1964, think it was either 1972 or 75? Will scrape the rest of the paint off the plate and make a note of the number. Ours is a stores/Binned trailer. One side is full of stacked boxes, the other has 2 rows of boxes then a drop down table with pin board behind, Then more boxes. Across the far end there are two bunks. Any info or pictures would be interesting.
  19. There is also a large cast Brockhouse namebadge on the rear x-member by the door. On the red plate the max gross was 5.5 tons.
  20. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No.....its a flying Brockhouse! :-D http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Brockhouse/DSC00449.jpg[/img] Grumpy and me popped over to Withams on Friday to collect the Trailer. Easy to load, just pick it up with a monster fork truck and drop it on the truck. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Brockhouse/DSC00447.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Brockhouse/DSC00448.jpg[/img] Looked tall on the truck, overall hight was 14 foot, lucky the lowest bridge on the way back was 15 foot. Once safely back in the yard a slow tug with landrover saw it back on the ground aided with the winch to lower it off. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Brockhouse/DSC00450.jpg[/img] Grumpy has more pic's of the unloading and i snapped a couple of the data plates before the light buggered off for the night. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Brockhouse/DSC00451.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Brockhouse/DSC00452.jpg[/img] Will get the numbers off them next time i am up at the yard in the light.

    That is cool. :schocked:
  22. I will get a picture of the data plate on ours when we go to Withams to collect it. You can see the red plate just visable to the right of the draw bar in the picture Grumpy posted. I may be wrong but i am sure it has Brockhouse printed on it. :dunno: These have wheel arches so they might be a later type with a wider track?
  23. Any one got any info on the Brockhouse trailers? Had a surf around the net and found nowt. :? Thats our long term plan for ours. Kit it out to make a comfy place to sleep and lurk at shows.
  24. Nope its not my fault, not mine at all! It will be fine to live in when the other halfs find out. :-D
