  1. As mentioned further up, the belt laws apply to kids but as long as adults are using side facing bench seats, no belts are required if not fitted when manufactured. Belts must be fitted when forward facing seats are fitted. Re the Ltwt, what year is it? It should be fitted with a minimum of static belts.
  2. Roughly a grand depending on condition and the state of the engine/gearbox and how much tin worm is in the chassis.
  3. Just noticed it has a duplicate pendulum thing on the other side. Some sort of leveling device?
  4. Prototype powered conker swinging machine? :dunno:
  5. Theres a mk3 Militant on Fleabay at the moment. ;-)
  6. Jacks are hard work  And climbing up and down the militant is easy?
  7. The ones you can see in the pictures are Clarke ones rated at 6 tons a pair from Machinemart, Dunno what the ones we used at the front are but they came from a job lot of truck spares. So seriously heavy duty.
  8. Bit of an update, Spent a day removing the rear of the cab, so i could then remove the hydraulic tank to remove the fuel tank. Got it all removed but couldnt lift the tank out on my own. Once the tank was removed it gave us lots of room to work on the gearbox, wouldnt fancy trying to remove it with the fuel tank in place. Last Sunday, Got the Stolly off the ramp again, parked it outside the work shop and lifted it onto big axle stands. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00518.jpg[/img] Disconnected the drive couplings between the transfer box and middle bevel boxes. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00515.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00516.jpg[/img] Out comes the last big lump from the hull. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00517.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00519.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00520.jpg[/img] Grumpys now got a bit of cleaning to do.
  9. Cheers John off for a browse now. Mine is a Civvy one too. Well will be again once its all rebuilt. Will be starting on it again once the Grumpys Stalwart is off the ramp. Ta Jon.
  10. The washer jet is held with a nut on the back of the washer jet. You need to remove the trim on the inside of the dash to get a spanner on the nut then you can spin off the wash jet.
  11. Seems i have suffered a case of brain fade too. Sorry Neil can see how i confused you yesterday. ;-)
  12. Hi John. Welcome along. Good looking pair, will have to pick your brains on Carawagons in the near future. :-D Jon.
  13. Some sort of pully block/winch, Pulling out the cable? :dunno:
  14. You need to use the cranked brackets. The kit is a conversion kit so is intended to fit all different types of belt set up in different landrovers. I think those brackets are designed to fit over the bulkhead in a Swb and then mount the reel to it behind the bulkhead as you dont have the room behind the seats in swb. Jon.
  15. Just had a scrapper land in the yard and the sun was shining so i need no more excuse to have 5 mins in the sun and snapped a couple of better pic's. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/PB010092.jpg[/img] Rear spreaderplate and top belt feed. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/PB010093.jpg[/img] Reel mounted on the rear bulkhead behind the seats. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/PB010095.jpg[/img] Bottom belt mount in the corner of the seatbox, door pillar. Jon.
  16. Later S3's had inertia belts as standard. Got some low quality pic's that i took showing the roll bar i have in Bungle, but it does show some of the plates in the kit. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00193.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00192.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00196.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/DSC00194.jpg[/img] The reel unit is mounted on the spreader plates which sandwich the bulkhead. I will get some pics when i get home, Not used the landrover to come to work today. Jon
  17. Nice site. Just the job for a quiet afternoon.
  18. If the steering is heavy, try adding some more oil before you replace the relay, mine must leak some yet its not noticable but about every 12months it needs topping up as the steering gets tight. You need to remove two of the top cover bolts, one to vent and one to slowly fill with ep90, i have never been able to get at more than one of mine so it can take a while, topping up the hole and letting it slowly run down. Keep going till it wont fill anymore. Jon.
  19. The swamps the bottom of the hull. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00494.jpg[/img] Its pretty interesting seeing the construction, He's cut through the hull around the rear wheel station and the amount of work thats involved is impressive.
  20. Stolly Simon has been breaking his dead stolly in the yard for a few weeks and has it stripped down to hull level. Saturday came, the sun was out, time to take the roof off! http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00492.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00496.jpg[/img] http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00497.jpg[/img] And off it comes. :-D http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00499.jpg[/img] Just the job for summer cruising. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00500.jpg[/img] Ahoy thar Landlubbers!... http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/Poptopshed/Stolly/DSC00502.jpg[/img] Jon.
  21. Dont get the jet wash anywhere near it. Will leave it stripy. Warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush is about the best method i have come across that wont destroy the canvas stiching.
  22. Looks like a good weekend. Well done, look forward to seeing the Auto car restoration.
  23. It certainly does for used belts. Can get a brand new pair of belts with brackets for £89.00 +V. Part no. RTC1939 ;-)
  24. I kinda agree with Clive its a bit harsh on the eye against the colour of the main body of the forum. But top work on the rest of it fellas. :-D
