  1. Funny you should mention the assault boat. There was a rubber inflatable assault boat for sale yesterday in Norway, seen in front of the dodge, sadly no price was stated and the add has already been removed.
  2. well there is also the loyd carrier option, there has been couple for sale recently and they seem to be around 30k£ restored.
  3. How many of the vehicles in the Land warfare hall where owned by the museum? I know some of the them are privately owned, e.g. the Pz IV now sold to the Australian Armour museum
  4. Interesting that it went to eastern Europe? But it seem that there is a growing interest in that region, for the troops that served with the British during the war.
  5. A rumour has it that it is the Jordanian King that has bought a lot of it for his museum. But it is unconfirmed and the other big shopper at the moment is the Australian armour and artillery museum
  6. wouldn't it be a pity to change it from the dozer configuration in to a gun tank. ? I know a dozer doesn't have the appeal to many as a gun tank do, but the conversion is possibly the reason why it survived (and is historically interesting), Isn't better to have some done in period than a new bitsa ? This is frequently discussed in the classic car world, where cars can have been raced, crashed, rebuild with a different or more efficient body and then 50 years later re bodied in style of the original. Good luck either way.
  7. One of those are very high on my wish list :-D
  8. Hi and welcome I think I have a pretty good idea about what Bedford you have, and from the pictures I have seen its pretty nice. congrats
  9. We had 99 in Denmark only one has survived. norway had them aswell and a couple are left up there
  10. One thing to remember if you are exporting a Military vehicle pre 1950, is that you have to apply for a export permit from the Norwegian defence museum. It's not a big problem and I haven't heard of any vehicles being denied, but it can take some time.
  11. Service Publications, just released a book called "Drive to victory" which should be fairly good. (waiting for mine to arrive) http://www.servicepub.com/ and http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=12216 there is also an older book by William Gregg called "Blueprint for victory" That I think is great. There is also more of a picture book for modelers from WWP, on the gun tractors http://wwpbooks.com/product.php?id_product=295
  12. Pete now I come to think of it wasn't there also a 2 Pdr portee or was that a field conversion ?
  13. These are the three cab types of Ford gun tractors for the 25 pdr. excluding the Australian types. "Quad's" or FAT's as tractors for 25 pdr, with the beetle back design where build by Morris, Karrier, Guy, Chevrolet and Ford. Between the different Ford CMP vehicles (8, 15, 30 and 60 cwt)(Cab 11, 12 and 13) many of the parts are interchangeable. Some parts though exist in "heavy duty" versions for the larger lorries. There are also interchangeable parts between Chevrolet and Ford but to a lesser degree. The Gun tractor bodies, on a Cab 11-12 from the nose and rearwards where build by a couple of coach builders and are identical on a Ford and Chevrolet. I think the same goes for the rear part of a Cab 13, starting from the rear of the original cab. By all means dive in to the field of commonwealth vehicles they are lovely
  14. Hi they rarely come for sale so a bit hard to determine a price range but this seems very fair to me http://www.milweb.net/webvert/a1976
  15. This picture is possibly from the arrival of the first batch of centurions to Denmark. One of the best know cases of Scammell being used to haul them was from the dock to the barracks. There for the British markings
  16. The roof sheets where attached directly to the head board of mine
  17. Have a look here and try and talk with Guy, finding a radio box might be close to impossible but one could be made http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?49685-Morris-commercial-C4/page12
  18. Hi Are there any frame or reinforcement folds in the locker doors ?
