  1. Hi all The Danish air force has a Queen Mary trailer in their historic collection, that they really would like an appropriate tractor unit for. They used Crossleys and Bedfords. Does anyone know if there are any Bedford OX in reasonable condition, available or a Bedford OY that could be converted?

    Tigers

Yes it is correct that Kubinka as a Sturm Tiger as well. a full list of the surviving Tigers, and a lot of other tank types can be found on this very nice page http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_Tigers.pdf World of tanks can be a very entertaining game, not the most realistic but I do enjoy a match every now an then. The developers of it has been very active in supporting and advertising the game around numerous museums. It seem that a number of the rare German tanks and parts ended up in the UK after 2 WW, but ended their days as hard targets or scrap, e.g. The E100 hull, Panther Schmalturm, and I think one of the VK prototypes (but I can not find the documentation)
  3. this might help you http://www.greenmachinesurplus.com/meteor-enginemk4b-technical-handbookfield-repairs-1134-p.asp http://www.greenmachinesurplus.com/meteor-engine-mk4btechnical-handbooktechnical-description-1135-p.asp http://www.avialogs.com/engines-categories/item/7613-rolls-royce-merlin-single-stage-engines-maintenance-manual#download https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rolls-Royce-Merlin-Manual-Construction-Workshop/dp/0857337580

    Velo's

Yes Ron, you should. There is a Dane restoring one as an MP bike at the moment that probably wouldn't mine seeing your work.
  5. God dag og velkomme Geir I seems you have a very nice collection of vehicles, and I am sure some one here can help you, though a Karrier K6 is a rare one. also nice to see UK/Canadian vehicles being restored in Norway, since so many are laying unloved in the forests up there.
  6. by the looks of it yes http://www.fareham-darc.co.uk/gallery/vhfnfd2015/vhfnfd2015.html http://www.fareham-darc.co.uk/G8KZO/g8kzo.htm
  7. From their latest update it seems they are kitting the interior out as well
  8. You might already know this site, but these guys build a Pz 2 J more or less from scratch https://www.facebook.com/Panzerfabrik/?fref=ts
  9. I do not know the full history of the vehicle in question, but are you sure it was owned by IWM Duxford, a number of the vehicles displayed in the land warfare hall where/are owned by private individuals, and only loaned to the museum. E.g. The Pz 4 Ausf. D that was displayed , was sold by its owner to the Australian artillery and armour museum and is currently being restored by C&C military.
  10. That is sad to hear can you at least keep the K5 now that's it restored?
  11. The description says: "This Willys MB is a genuine wartime vehicle, manufactured in 1942. In 2008, it underwent a total nut-and-bolt rebuild; restoration work included.......new body......" It looks to have been to a very high standard but I would rather have a worn, welded original.
  12. I dont think there can be any challenger to its status as the most original. they have been working together museum restores on how to best preserve it and the original paint
  13. Well technically he is not wrong, the chassis is war time. Just in neutral sweden
  14. Here is the chassis before the conversion started, it was for sale on milweb in Germany
  15. It will yes look much better than a 432 stug (and they where much better than the seventies panzer mockups) but a good example on how to bulid a replica tank with out butchering antoher rare vehicle is the recently build luchs in the US: https://www.facebook.com/Panzerfabrik/
  16. Hi and welcome Feel free to share pictures of your vehicles, we cant have to many pictures of British vehicles. :cool2:
  17. http://www.prewarcar.com/index.php?option=com_caradvert&view=ad&section_id=3&id=207955&Itemid=433 A Pierce Arrow engine, would it be any use to some one ?
  18. There was a partial complete 38(T) for sale in Norway back in the 2012, but that was, from what I know an original, converted after the war, in Norway, to a tractor, it is now restored and residing in Australia. The original turret came from one of the many bunkers in Norway. I really don't understand the reason for converting all these Sav m43 and Pansarbandvagn 301 in to something they never have been, and actually (IMOO) wasting original parts, on a replica, these parts could possible have been used for restoring a better original candidate. The Swedish vehicle is just as interesting.
  19. Just spotted this Albion for sale: http://m.finn.no/b2b/truck/ad.html?finnkode=82013679
  20. To the broad public, anything Tiger related is the most interesting and would possible attract more visitors. Though one could hope that online computer games like world of tanks and war thunder, could spark an interest in the other rare vehicles in the museum, and then fuel the need for these to be restored to running condition.
  21. I still think it would be best to keep it as a dozer. But it seems that Bob flemming is about to make some cromwell turrets http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/view_large.php?ad=83620&cat=1
  22. Just as it might help, which cab type 11, 12 or 13?
