  1. Whatever floats your boat.
  2. Looks like the lounge has been plastered and dried out nicely - guessing there is a large woodburner stove in the aclove out of sight? Looking good!
  3. Bit of a coincidence - I thought that name (Freckleton) was familiar, there's been a group of Liberator crash photos on Ebay for months now , school was demolished. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/freckleton-school-2ww-usaaf-liberator-crash-photo-file-/200498479306?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item2eaea400ca
  4. That's nice! A view of this recovery from the other side is in one of Pat Ware's recent books. Sad Sack was also a 388th BG B-17 (amongst others no doubt). p.s. That is a WLF Series 4 (can someone pass me my anorak please).
  5. Would that would be Dorset A&E Summer Time, when the clocks go back 595,680 hours?
  6. I think it's when you get it put in a container with all sorts of other peoples' stuff - when it's full it gets shipped. ??
  7. The chap who converted this truck bought it from William Galliers, Shropshire in 2006. It had been used as a war movie prop in Iceland prior to acquisition. See article on the truck in Heritage Commercials May 2010.
  8. Yes, I do that all the while, rocking it usually gives you a pretty good idea where the level is! :-D:-D:-D
  9. Oh yes! It is actually quite a 'relaxing' colour for a cab interior.
  10. Very nice to see one preseved as a lime spreader - albeit with a modern style body. This was almost certainly the most common postwar use of GMCs in the UK. Most GMC chassis were fitted with Kenwall bodies, some maybe with similar-looking Atkinson built bodies but not seen any photograhic evidence of this. The two below have Kenwall units. There is a very original Kenwall bodied truck preserved down Jack's way in Tentshire.
  11. Ah, that's it, thanks very much for your help. Haven't a clue about knives
  12. Can anyone identify this knife set please? Is it military by any chance? Possible RAF WW2 'jungle issue'?
  13. And for the last time - WE DON'T WANT YOUR CARDBOARD!!
  14. Howard - you should find them only just down the road! Marcus Glenn usually has them, see his site - link via Milweb.
  15. Found this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LASER-JIGGLER-SYPHON-PUMP-/300584553306?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item45fc3c4b5a TBH wouldn't it would be a lot easier to use with one of those rubber squeezie bulb pumps on? That isn't a very technical description but you know what I mean - think Evinrude outboard motor fuel can....
  16. Very neat conversion, Roland! It looks like this Crusader's mother was parked up too close to a Volvo Globetrotter one night.....:cool2:
  17. I might get a chance to measure the trailer stuff up Tuesday, but maybe someone with a Chev can oblige. I'm sure the stuff I found was available in galvanised too. In fact I'm certaion I posted the source last year when someone asked a similar question on here, but how to search for it.....
  18. Floor Wear Strip? I don't think this one is quite right (www.cbf.uk.com) but there are several other suppliers. I found the ideal one for a U.S. 10T trailer floor which I am sure would be same as Chev 1 1/2T, but I am jiggered if I remember where now, and I didn't get round to ordering what I needed :red:
  19. Can anyone recommend a really good make of new "quality" mobile DC welder, around 200 - 250amps and diesel? Looking for something long-lasting to replicate the smooth-running "proper" DC welders made by Lincoln. The smallest new set they do is 300amp and quite a price.... Any help much appreciated!
  20. Erm - isn't Shedfield in Tentshire? :-D
  21. Correction - not good enough to break for spares!!!!! Wish I hadn't posted it now. I only glanced at the pictures, but yes - when viewed with a keen eye it is completely wrong. Surprising it was considered accurate enough for a film prop, but I suppose if just seen in the background....
  22. Here's one, but possibly too good to break for spares? :cool2: http://www.milweb.net/classifieds.php?type=3
