  1. There's something mesmerising about the juxtapositioning of the girl and those headlights and guards bottom right :-D (that's an artistic term, Jack)
  2. Rubber sounds a better prospect than foam. More durable I'd think too (needs to last another 70 years!).
  3. That side tilt on the GMC with the outrigger poles is a very neat idea! Wonder if it was copied from a wartime photo?
  4. Vulture - I could do with two of these seals, so if you're thinking of getting one from Jim Carter I'd be pleased to share the delivery costs!
  5. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?23072-Supplier-of-Windscreen-Rubbers&highlight=walker+rubber Always pays to try the search engine on here :cool2:
  6. Just out of interest - did you try Walker Rubber at Norwich? I posted a link to them during a similar discussion a year or so back.
  7. Beauties, both of them! Are they power steering pipes on the lower one, I wonder?
  8. I can't say for certain with Milweb - but sometimes (not always) emails sent via websites like that appear in your own email 'sent items'. If you check in there it should give you the email address to which they were sent. If so, then you should get a delivery failure message if it doesn't reach the recipient.
  9. In fairness to the lady, it does rather look like a piece of Pleistoferrosaurus dung. My mum once picked up a baby mammoth's tooth - these eastern parts are full of ancient relics (hey, knock it off with them Tony Hancock impressions, Stevens.....).
  10. Note the 'would suit house mover, farmer, logger....' :n00b:
  11. Have you oiled the gun? They do run dry after a while and the effectiveness is then very much reduced. I have a Sealey and squirt a little oil into the air inlet every 20 minutes or so.
  12. Have a look at the website - if there is no mention anywhere - even in the small print - of VAT (e.g. 'VAT will be added to all prices') then I would certainly not accept it, a case for Trading Standards? It is no excuse to say 'we are a business therefore we charge VAT' as many businesses are not registered for VAT as they operate below the turnover threshold for registration.
  13. What about the dashing young blade driving it?
  14. Yes - me too, although I wasn't going to own up to it
  15. Well to be honest it is a bit - no, actually it is totally stupid of VOSA to omit the chassis number from a test certificate on a vehicle that has no registration number. One can imagine (and sympathise with) the DVLA people getting a bit aggrieved about having to refer back to VOSA every time this arises. It is sadly indicative of our modern bureaucracy that these circumstances - which require someone to 'go the extra mile' to make things happen - often result in a stalemate, because (understandably I guess, in our era of 'taking the blame') nobody wants to go the extra mile or step outside their comfort zone (the accountability thing?). And all for want of departments talking to each other and making things simple for each other. The same thing arises with the new 'proof of paying import duty' where HMC+E and DVLA are locked in a situation where neither department seems able to communicate easily with each other in order to help applicants through the process.
  16. That last pic shows the jib secured by a couple of short chains with rings on the ends held by the tow hooks. Simple idea (if a bit unstable!).
  17. I think you'll find these brackets are Norwegian (post war) - and I always assumed they were snowplough brackets (but you've got me wondering now :cool2:).
  18. I suspected as much, and strangely it was the Humber that gave it away - a sort of double bluff!!
  19. Cheers. I'd be very interested to know what sort of job that was - thinking of something military and bigger / older (so Bernard may allow the off topic stroll......).
  20. Before your Scammellitis reaches the tertiary stage (:shake:), do tell us what Purple's ZF box was taken from! Was it a remote change box which you adapted to on-top stick shift?
  21. I was worried that's what the 90 stood for, but didn't want to believe it. A 6BT? :wow:
  22. Just explain to us lot what the heck the BIGPURPLEONE is please......
