  1. Hi Adrian, thanks. Do you know if the Sherman crabs were also equipped with the deep wading equipment. I haven't seen a photo of them with wading trunks on. Thanks Johannes
  2. Hi guys, thanks so much for your help. @mcspool - as the thread is named vehicles of the 60s and 70s: do you think that kind of D8 was already in use during the D-Day landings? @paulbrook: the link unfortunately doesn't work :embarrassed: Regards Johannes
  3. Sorry guys - another question for the heavies: Believe me - I am confused by so many forum threads, pictures, explanations. Who has an answer to this? How many deep wading trunks have the following tanks/AFV (in british service)? - Sherman III - Sherman V - M 10 TD I am sure this is a stupid and definetely not new question, but I need painting/conversion time and I don't have time for time consuming research. Sorry guys! thanks Johannes
  4. Hi Wally, unbelievable! We are also working on a 1/300 diorama of Sword Beach. The goal is to show the assault wave 1:1 in vehicles and ships. What models did you use? Did you scratch-build them? It is not so easy because most of the vehicles/ships don't exists in the variants they used for the landings. Here is our website which hasn't been updated for a long time as I was involved in my day-to-day job and concentrated on painting the ships/vehicles, etc. In the meantime the ships are 80% finished and I start with the vehicles. My club mate is working on the table + the buildings. There will be an update shortly and that will give you a better idea about the project. Do you have photos of your diorama? Johannes
  5. Hi Wally, thanks for the fast reply. Do you have a photo of the trailer? And have you ever heard of a "trailer Jahn"? Johannes
  6. Cool! Thanks for the fast replies. As I am working in 1/300 - is there a significant difference in their appearance (apart from the amored dozers)?
  7. Sorry - I don't know where to put this question. It is about american vehicles, but in british service. It is about british verhicle but made by the americans. In both ways - it is tracked! I found these dozers in the landings tables for Sword Beach: Angledozer D14 Angledozer D10 Angledozer HD7 Angledozer HD7 (armored) Angledozer D7 Angledozer D7 (armored) Although I bought the Tankograd book an the US-dozers, I am still confused about the many different names. I only could identify the D7 and the D7 (armored). Could anybody help me with informations? Thanks Johannes
  8. Hello! I am working on a D-Day (Sword Beach) diorama. There is a "trailer carrimore 18 ton" mentioned in the landing table for a LCT4 (#216). Has anybody information and/or photos on this trailer? Thanks Johannes
  9. Hi Paul, some pictures can be found here: http://swordbeach1944.wordpress.com/ As you can see I did not update the website for quite a while. I will do so next week as the "fleet" is 80% complete now and I am beginning with the vehicles now. Unfortunately the producers of 1/300 vehicles are not very into the subject of amphibious landings. There are just Churchill AVREs, Sherman Crabs and Sherman DDs. We have to scratchbuild all the deep wading equipment for the tanks, carriers, sp artillery, etc. The diorama table will have the shape of an "L". We are planning a beach length (from Ouistreham to Lion-sur-Mer) of about 5,40 meters. The connection to the Pegasus bridge will be about 4,00-5,00 meters. We won't cover the defenses of strongpoint "Cod". I would like to apply for missing-lynx but they don't accept new members at the moment, which is very sad as there are a lot of interesting threads and people. Thanks for your interest Johannes
  10. Hello, my name is Johannes from Germany. Me and some friends are working on a 1/300-diorama on the Sword-Beach-Landings. I am hoping to find answers to some questions which came up when I was looking at the landings tables. The questions concern trailers and dozers used by the assault wave. I will post them shortly, after I have checked all threads for possible answers. Thanks Johannes
