  1. The auctioneers and large buyers/dealers don't want you to know what's going on. To be a successful buyer you need to attend auctions regularly just to watch in order to understand the way things are manipulated before attending as a buyer.
  2. Try sending a PM to TooTallMike, he is the Ward expert on here.
  3. That looks to be a very tidy motor Paul.

    M35 a2

You're welcome Alec, I forgot to mention Morris's will have a stockist in your area and it is normally cheaper to buy from them rather than direct from Morris Oils. May I suggest you join the Steel Soldiers forum which is where all the M35 guru's reside.
  5. John is correct, there are lots of restrictions on vehicles taxed for agricultural use, they change quite frequently and never seem to be publicised by the authorities, the way farmers belatedly find out about them is usually via the farming press. It seems to be up to the individual to use the relevant Gov't website to check the regulations but care is needed as the interpretation the individual puts on the reg's may not tally with the view of the police and ultimately the courts. Incidentally what type of vehicle are we discussing?
  6. Well done Rick, look forward to seeing the restoration thread.
  7. Hi Tom, I've got a couple of US jerry cans, £20ea also 1 clamp type pourer £10 and 1 screw in type pourer £25, both for US cans. Where are you based?
  8. While I take your point about no armour being recovered during the Dunkirk evacuation is it possible that this vehicle was recovered after the D-Day landings or even post war?
  9. I fully intended to watch it but got tied up with something else so was going to watch it on Iplayer but after your comments I won't waste my time.
  10. I have to ask, did Charlie Cairoli and Paul use it in their act?:-D
  11. Neil, I would suggest you bleed first at the filter , then bleed at the injection pump and finally crack an injector pipe at the injector and she should start.
  12. Congratulations, no doubt Tony B will be along soon to extol the virtues of your choice of vehicle:-D
  13. With respect Robin's question is perfectly relevant. He is very experienced and is trying to help you, presumably without having any army publications to quote from, you are tapping into a huge pool of knowledge on here but you cannot expect help if you refuse to answer straightforward questions. What's the big secret anyway?
  14. Normally there is three of us 'old codgers' together and we support the RBL and the RNLI with vehicles whenever possible. We used to support Help for Heroes but never again, I won't go into details for legal reasons, suffice to say organisation left a lot to be desired (putting it politely), we were badly treated and there were financial issues we were not happy about.
  15. . Thanks Clive. I was late in seeing this post by which time the answers were way over my head:???. The clues were there, I just couldn't see the wood for the trees.
  16. Clive are we talking about heat conductivity or electrical conductivity?
  17. Assuming your M35 is pre 1960 and taxed and insured as an Historic MV you are only allowed to tow another vehicle if it is broken down and then only to a place of safety (in the opinion of the police). Under any other circumstances the towed vehicle would be classed as a trailer with all that entails. The chances of actually being stopped and accused of possibly multiple offences is negligible until the day an accident occurs when your insurance company will immediately disappear into the long grass and you could even be left with claims against you running into millions although this is obviously worst case scenario.
  18. Hi Clive, hope you and yours are well and you've now settled in. You say the code equates to Rover, is this specific to Land Rover's or could it also relate to other Rover products?
  19. Oh Kerist, don't get me started on cyclists. Last week one collided with me at night when I was walking on the pavement near my house and tonight an almost identical incident only this time there was two of 'em and I was only clipped on the arm. They were all adults riding at speed without lights and came from behind me, none of them stopped and in the first incident the busturd swore at me and rode on laughing, leaving me lying on the floor. It's a well lit main road and I will recognise him, my time will come and big and young as he is, old age and an old trick will cause this tw*ts downfall.:cool2:
  20. Thanks to all who have so eloquently translated the crap I posted. I stand by what I said so badly but plead senility and temporary insanity.:nut:
