  1. Arrghh!! Just spotted the thread. If only I had the cash I'd give it a good home. Or a decent burial....
  2. Listed as a "Ferret Scout Car Mk 1/2 (1964) limo/limousine" http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ferret-Scout-Car-Mk-1-2-1964-limo-limousine-/110667557494?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19c44cea76 Poor thing!
  3. My friend and I came down from sunny Scotland. We enjoyed it but I didn't buy as much as I thought I would. Not many vehicles parts and some of the deacs looked a little, ermm, non standard' I bought a PRC 351 complete kit.
  4. It's a nice looking truck and I'm glad you made it home safe.

    fuel

£1.28 here. Isn't there another tax hike due in April? Just think the pain hasn't even begun yet!
  6. Hi One side of the fuel tank is slightly deeper than the other side and so holds a bit more petrol (Right side if you stand at the back of the vehicle, looking forward) That's the reserve. If you really want, you can trace the fuel lines to the selector switch to work out which side the selector is set to draw from. Sometimes, if you are lucky there will be painted signs on the metal (Not that I've ever seen any!) Join the ferret heaven mailing list in Yahoo and there are several good sites on the web. Including (but not limited to): (These are just the three I remember off the top of my head) http://www.ferret-fv701.co.uk/ http://www.sirhc.co.uk http://ferret-afv.org/
  7. There a sci fi film called "stonehenge apocolypse"(sp?) It's set in the UK and USA with the British and American soldiers driving Mungas and Reos (Well I think they're Reos, if anyone lasts through the whole film they can let me know!)
  8. When I asked Totec about the 9 x 16 tires, they said they did not have the EU mark to be used on the road. The situation may have changed since then and I will admit to stroking my chin at the thought of some nice new tires for my ferret 00EC25. Only twelve away from me (00EC13)
  9. You've put a lot of work into your vehicle and (jumping onto EMLRA and seeing your photos) you do not describe it as being the 'real thing' at any point. Good luck to you and keep raising the cash ;-)
  10. Strange looking beast with a fascinating history. ;-)
  11. At least they are serving a purpose and not being chopped up...
  12. More piccies and explanations please! I've got to replace my gearbox and can always use simple explanations with big pictures ;-)
  13. When I visited HMS Plymouth back in 1999 / 2000, (I was a volunteer, deck ape, tour guide and shipkeeper when she was in Glasgow)I'm pretty sure Landfall was berthed alongside, although she wasn't known as that. She's had a colourful history since WW2 and it would be a shame for her to be lost. Are you going to take donations?
  14. Ahh if only I could get my paws on one of them
  15. Good luck to you and hope we see photos :-)
  16. Sounds good, I'll have to find a copy
  17. That would be so much fun to do to certain places!
  18. I remember reading in the Ferret Heaven mailing list of attempts to do this (in NI?) by disconnecting the front shafts Usually resulted in broken prop shafts.
