  1. I found the chart very interesting, wonder what they get today ?
  2. In this instance some of the comments in the link are reasonable. As to Sealion being a success; not possible as long as the Royal Navy was extant and other logistical reasons.
  3. They are tanks from A & B Squadrons 43Bn RTR 33 Brigade in October 1942. Type in IWM Search our Collections, then Churchill tank. There pages and pages of them but have a look at H214817 which is your photo and TR219, they are in colour as well.
  4. No chance, because last year they would not let me in, first time in a vintage car to it and I was accused of being late however no time was stipulated by the organiser. Went away not best pleased......
  5. I have this for sale, no use to me, selling for a HMVF donation.
  6. All set up for the camera, totally false and to use a Germanic phrase in keeping with the show 'ersatz'. Also the actions of the firer after the discharge of the weapon .....infantile.
  7. I remember this from the mid 1970's. I was on the Signal Platoon office wall of HQ Coy 5/8 Kings (V). I could not have quoted it but knew the sentiment, relevant today in all walks of life.
  8. Mr Prof I am intrigued with the West Midland Regiment, in fact never heard of it (that is not a disrespectful comment) but from what parentage did it come from ?
  9. Is this the one at Duxford. So is the IWM selling it or is it owned by a private person ? If the former, the question is why?
  10. The motorcycles bundled together would not be sold as scrap as the caption states.
  11. It should be there but never one fitted
  12. The plane! the plane!, sorry its a plate, just shows my age
  13. This is the B80 that is the different colour with 05FF34 behind, now an empty hull destined for Laser Combat in Liverpool
  14. I quite agree Clive, it is a pity that these norms are not now part of the modern world.
  15. Thank you all, I will go with a Sunbeam and a Napier, the photo will be the subject of a Then&Now in the WFA Stand To! under 'The Camera Returns'
  16. Here is the close up, the second one does not look like the first (Sunbeam ?) Thanks for the help, apart from Rick of course...
  17. We don't need the likes of you making assanine comments, this is proper historical research, stick to your old tanks there's a good chap.
  18. Mr Alien, I see you are a film buff, 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre' a late 1940's film to those who do not know. Strange how words stick in the mind.
  19. Can anyone (Tim for instance) identify these motor ambulances outside the Hop Store, Vlameringtinge, June 1915.
  20. It came from Northern Ireland a few days ago. there is some Light Stone on the hull under the mudguard the original paint has been sand-blasted off. I will enquire with the previous owner as to its history.
  21. That's interesting Clive, however there is nothing obvious with this Saracen that it was an instructional vehicle, looks pretty standard to me. The data plate on the left hand side is different to the oblong style, this one being rectangular. I will send a photo when I can get at it, engine still in at the moment.
  22. I am in the process of removing the B80 from a Mk6 Saracen, (engine compartment parts available) and I have noticed the engine is painted grey and distributer yellow. I have not come across these colours before. Would it be a certain workshop scheme ?
  23. RAF Regiment had Saracens in the 1970's
