  1. Trying Richard! Not been able to find one yet, and the guy selling the WOT2 won't answer his phone or reply to emails. I could probably drive the Sabre to the Victory show, I'd rather do that than drive a truck! Chris
  2. I think I just heard a 'whoosh' .....
  3. The discussion will go on forever, but I can't resist one more comment..... how many Hotchkiss Jeeps went ashore on D-Day?
  4. There's nothing interesting about 300 jeeps parked next to each other. This show is just down the road from here, if I wasn't going on holiday I might have gone. Sounds like next year I won't even get the chance. Chris
  5. There's a nice one here... http://www.motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classifieds/-216/posts/1_Motorcycles/5_Classic_Bikes/43_1943_Matchless_G3LEXWD.html
  6. Jack, There are plenty here... http://www.morlock-motors.de/index.php?car=151 I wouldn't mind one myself! Chris
  7. If I bought that it would bother me that it wasn't a real one every time I looked at it.
  8. There are some nice Lightweight Land Rovers on ebay at the moment in that price range. The Lightweight is a purpose built military vehicle and ideal to start with as they're easy to work on and you can get the bits. If you want something ww2, then you'd be looking at a vehicle needed total rebuild for that price. Chris
  9. Mick, If the batteries are charged they will stop charging, whatever the capacity, so you shouldn't have a problem. Chris
  10. Looks like one of these... http://www.witham-sv.com/infopage.php?ID=1787&Overide=1 Chris
  11. Jon, I think there's another part which connects to the trailer chassis to take the weight. I think it bolts on between the tub and those to lifting eyes. There's a Withams sale soon, might be worth going for a look to see if you can find one and get some photos. Chris
  12. Mick, You will need to find out where it was sold off. I think it was probably bought back here and then went through the auctions, but it was before my time so can't say for sure. There were a few ex-HK Saracens for sale a few years ago. I don't think it will be a problem. Chris
  13. Yes, but they were shipped over after the MoD sold them off by various dealers. http://www.khakicorpsimports.com/ Chris
  14. Mike, You need the same paperwork to get anything registered. I didn't have a release form for the Ferret or Fox, but was able to get dating evidence from the Tank Museum. Without seeing what dataplates are in the Saracen it's hard to know what you'll need to do, but it should be possible to date it from the contract number if this is on the plate. You will need a letter from the MVT/Tank Museum etc and you can present this along with the insurance, MOT (or exemption) and V55 in order to register it. Chris
  15. Nigel, It may be that I have a different version, or I have pages that were removed by an ammendment. The propeller dwg is pg 187 in my book, I have pages 172 - 190. I'll send you a PM. Chris
  16. OM13 is a very light oil, it's almost like water. SAE30 is thicker, but still thinner than a modern engine oil. Val, I think you're going to need to check every lubricant you've used and make sure it's suitable. Any which are wrong will need a thorough flushing through, or you could just park the Saracen up for a few years and wait for it all to drain out! Chris
  17. I went about a week ago, and it was also £7! Chris
  18. Quite possibly, and this may explain why the hose burst. SAE30 is not equivalent to OM13 - ISO10 hydraulic fluid is. SAE30 is OMD110, which is engine oil. Read through this, it's not 100% relevant but might help... http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/lsm/dhmg/fer-oils.html Chris
  19. Val, Where are you putting the SAE30? In the engine is fine, in the gearbox is ok, anywhere else and I think you may need to read the manual again! Chris
  20. Just had another look, that is a Fox commanders seat sticking out of the top!
  21. Rick, It's been on there a few times. Has some dodgy mods, such as the lights, and some worn out tyres. The bins look ok though, so a reasonable project at the right price. You know you want one..... Chris
  22. Phil, If I remember correctly B disconnects the gearbox from the engine. Chris
  23. The gun in the Scorpion is not the same as the gun in the Saladin, the Scorpion version is a smaller lightweight version.
