  1. JP have you found one then? Iscthis the one you mentioned on your thread?
  2. Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't all the chrome have been painted too? Nice car.
  3. Progress is progress no matter how slow. Looking good.
  4. Agreed, building up a rapport with a seller or should I say 'like' minded seller is a huge step in buying vehicle. Talking face to face with someone who knows and cares about what they have is important. Not the faceless purchase off ebay and the like where there is no communication and just bidding wars!
  5. I always used to be very cautious when it came to buying vehicles. Now being somewhat older (not much!) and wiser I take a different attitude. You know straight away when you see a project or vehicle whether its right for you, sometime the price may be a little higher than expected but you fall for something and go for it. Vehicles, no matter which or condition are expensive in the long run, that's simply one aspect of our hobby that must go part and parcel with it. I have missed some lovely vehicles in the past but now I suppose I understand their historical importance better and our 'role' as custodians for future generations. I say if you like it and it presses the right buttons for you go for it, its only yourself who would regret not snapping up that 'right' vehicle when its available.
  6. Interesting to note that it has been sold by them previously.
  7. Thats really interesting, it surprised me the order being placed for 800 of them. You always think vehicles that are more 'specialist' would be produced in smaller numbers.
  8. I've seen a couple pics of your Commer on Flickr Bob, lovely little truck. Horrible to drive, in what way? Cramped cab or position of the gearstick?
  9. They look superb together. Well done.
  10. Looking very good. I like it getting to the stage of sanding and priming. To get some paint on always looks good.
  11. Considering VE Day was during lockdown so much more was planned and went on. Ok, we arent out of lockdown yet but restrictions are relaxed a lot more you would have thought more could have been made of VJ Day. The Forgotten War sums it up.
  12. Pouring down with rain here in our part of Somerset. Nothing going on of note in our village today which is such a shame.
  13. I could do with that shed just with some extra height in it to get the lorries and cars in!
  14. Very impressive again Pete. I have tried doing work on the car but its simply sweltering.
  15. We had a good look round the 3 at Dorset last year, very nice they were too. I do recall one of them do 'rides' in the main ring.
  16. So it was built for a theatre production?
  17. Superb, its great that it has been saved and I am sure you can bring it back to life. Its lovely seeing things in this sort of condition being kept and not scrapped!
  18. I think its great that you are saving the Albion, such rarities need to be preserved so that people can see them. I especially like vehicles like this, not the mainstream survivors but something you would never expect to still be around.
  19. Just been back reading your posts Paul, what a superb truck. Do you know of any other survivors?
  20. I havent seen one in the flesh, always liked the look of them being a fan of Rootes vehicles.
  21. Sounds like you have an interesting project? I take it you are restoring a Scout?
  22. Looks very good to me👍 I would be pleased with that.
