  1. hi , if you need bits I know of an other one in a Scrapyard.
  2. that inverted one , is that not a copy? noo opening were the cooling duckts are , and wy ropes on it to keep it there ? Its own weight should keep it there , prop is also broken of in one piece , and no bent blades ?
  3. the two boxes are : top one is MG 42 ammo box (I think post war version) and bottom one is first aid box American style , model is still in use with some Nato forces.
  4. A lot of vehicles that are shown on the pictures on that Hartziel site are gone , some pictures are dating back into the eighties
  5. what do you all think of this early MW picture with RED and white nuts from factory
  6. As an answer to Supertrack , I never put the whole drive on a scale , but the 4 ton Forklift (not on the pictures) is strugling (its like power steering if I lift the driveline) there even goes about 160 liters of oil in the whole thing , so that has to be added to the weight as well in the end.
  7. another two pictures whith one of the steering end housings mounted
  8. [i also only took 2 pictures from assembling my 3 piece Final drive for my M4A4
  9. Hanno better look a second time at the picture , tracks are a give away! !
  10. To be precise it is an M4A4(T) wich means it is a post war modified M4A4 to have a Radial installed instead of the Multibank engine , French did a lot of rebuilds of these even top deck was taken from M4`s and M4a1`s If you need help with wheels let me know .
  11. they are for the decontaminator bracket , the fire extinguisher goes in the right hand footwell , on side plate. only later Dodge windscreens have these strips
  12. pre war vehicles had red and white painted nuts as wel, On early Morris and Bedford pictures you can see white nuts , So by looking at aeroscreen 15cwts most have white painted nuts , but by the introduction of the full windscreen , the white painted nuts have disapeared , so somewhere in 41, they must have stopped .
  13. I think the step is correct , it just looks in the picture too short, early body`s were comming down till the step , so no gap with early bodies .Later body`s have long step with shorter body , but that is at the end of production.
  14. Matador, Militant , FWD , and Hippo used also these rims .
  15. Usually the military Extinguishers were olive drab or Brown , with a decal instead of the brass instruction plate. another difference is that the civillian one had a one piece centre cilinder , and the military version had a soldered seam in it .
  16. Easy 8 Sherman 31,3 t Universal carrier 3,3 t Stuart M5 13,2 t Dingo 2,9 t But of course depends on what is loaded , these are weights when they went in to get paperwork , so empty vehicles.
  17. What I meant is that CMP , or Us chevy military manifolds go straight down , this one has an angle , wich will be from a Civy front end Chevrolet.
  18. Hi , Yes they are chevy , but not the military version , this has the down pipe straight down . i have seen some CMP wrecks with non orriginal engines with these manifolds on.
  19. I personally prefer the closed cab . It looks the part . And as mentionned before on hot days it is comfortable with windscreen open , and to lean elbow on door for comfort . They are also easyer for getting in and out of . Seen somebody this September getting out of his open cab , and his foot stayed just behind the door arch , and landed on his face in front of an audience. :-D And you don`t have to buy expensive canvas.
  20. Usually if it is a 41 model , then the fixed doors and full windscreen should already be installed . If the body sides can be folded down half ways , then it is still possible to be an aeroscreen one . First fixed door bedfords were converted Aerosreen versions.
  21. Depends on what people want to pay , there was a dingo sold this summer for €10 000,- and a real nice one for €12000,- , so they went up , because when I started with the hobby a nice Dingo went for 2,500 Pounds. CMP`s make money when they are done up good , but unrestored ones don`t fetch a lot.
  22. The rear idlers are also used to drive the propellors via timken diff housing. Orriginally they had another set of Sprockets fitted on them , but because the tracks kept jumping on them they were removed , they discoverred that the tracks would annyway not slip on the rear idler because if they were in the water the weight of the tracks hanging unsuported at the bottom would prevent them from slipping.
  23. The firefly Generator is almost assembled , just carburettor , and electrics in instrument pannel have to be installed , the generator for the M4A4 with the cilinder at the bottom has only the dynamo bit the same , and crank with piston , pictures will follow soon .
  24. This town is situated in the northern part of the province of Limburg, near Horst in Holland , it is not so far from Overloon.
