Channel 5's the gadget show went combat this week and did

a) paintballing on the site that has converted 432's to have turrets and paintball cannons - anyone know if the turrets are real?

b) "laser" combat with some new guns using infra red and with a range of about 1000 meters

Looked great fun

Didn't see the show but there is a site just outside Bruntingthorpe that has several genuine turret fitted 432s. I believe there are only about 18 of them and they were based in Germany, possibly Berlin. The cannon is air operated and fires a ping-pong ball filled with paint.

Those vehicles have probably been repainted several times since use with the Berlin Brigade. I think they were used as OPFOR vehicles at one time, and have heard stories of some of them being used as hard targets too.
