Bunker Bash 2008 Photos

Recommended Posts

Well done to Lee, Ian and everyone involved with the Bunker Bash. What a shame that all their hard work would be, shall we say, bunkered by the good old English weather. Nonetheless things were going well. Good to see some friendly faces and have a beer. My gang - the Muftimuppets, enjoyed themselves recreating the undercover SAS catering squad. Not a ladel in sight by the time the cloudbase dropped. I'm hoping to get back tomorrow. My few snaps include Mike and Mark using their WLFs to lift Mike's Spartan. There is a nice snap of my old Renault, which meets Valhalla tomorrow if all goes to plan...

Can you give a brief run through on the functions of the levers on the WLF winching system ? When you need to put down the stabiliziers , And how important it is to have another helper to guide the operator as he has a limited view from his platform .

Had a good day.Me and the wife came down in the 101 and trailer. Will posts some pics later.Met Mark Heliops. But we have already met before.I now know who TooTallMike is and Grasshopper.Catweazle wasnt happy though! He would like to see a blanket ban on kids, and dogs at next years show. And there will also be a strong worded letter going to the CAA for miss-use of the Jet-Ranger during the pleasure flights.Apparentley according to Cat.There was nothing pleasurable about them,as the down drought from the rotors was pushing a nasty breeze in to his tent.Organizers!you have been warned.Dont let him cast a spell,as they have a nasty habit of coming true.lol

Just finished setting my photos to upload - totally agree with Jason above - it was a fantastic weekend (even with the rain on Sat) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. :yay::yay:

Again a big Thank You to Lee and his team of willing and able helpers for all their hard work in making the weekend a success.

Looking forwards to 2009 now :yay::yay: - either with my Stalwart back or the OT - or both..... :)

It was a brilliant weekend. Thanks to all the team for their hard work. It was great to meet old and new faces and I think a good time was had by all.

Photos to come when I've sorted them. This show will definitely be in the diary for next year!

Going to answer this one on the Transporters and wreckers thread, so we can get a bit more technical.

Got back to the Bunker on sunday PM just in time to see the firemen cut my Renault to pieces and then see Dave and the gunners blow it up with a little help from Lee and the gang.

I've got a mass more photos to post, but am booked up til tmrw, so will do asap.

Great to meet Mr Banner at last and sorry I missed Catweazle and others. Rambo was leaving as I arrived. Nice to see young Harry again and all the organiser team. YOUR Hard work paid off. Congratulations. My gang of mates who came on Saturday really enjoyed themselves despite the weather and say thanks.

See you all there next year. Sorry I had no MV this year, and thanks for the comments about it!! I think.

yes i heard we had that nickname:rofl::rofl::rofl:

that wasn't possibly anything to do with a mix up bettwenn ENTRANCE and EXIT was it? B***DY good fun though:cool2:

Fantastic show, has the bonnet landed yet?

no the mix up was done by the scouts :argh:when we were in the arena doing the accident scene and anyone who was watching that scene would have seen the police landrover leaving rather quickly halfway througth

:banghead: leaving one rmp rodger in the field doing notes and myself racing off to sort out the tanks who had been sent the wrong way towards their lowloader

any high or wide vehicles were convoyed out to the main entrance by escort vehicle until 5pm when the road was declared two way traffic

we tried to be as polite as we could and hope to see you all soon

the stinger nearly got used for a vehicle but the civillian police car beat us to him

David, I think tours round the site in a Skdfz, could really catch on! I enjoyed it :cool2: As for Mark's big bang finalle apparently the lot in the trenches were running about screaming 'INCOMING'!!!:n00b:

As for organisation, hey if it all goes smoothly , wheres the fun?

Most importantly, everyone had fun, and no one got hurt, no major grief, That's the measure of how well organised things are.

Personnally, after all those years and an official 21 gun salute to our name, the Garrison finally got something to fly!:yay::yay::yay::yay:
