Richard Farrant
I don't think this has come up on the forum yet, but Hamptons scrapyard in Staffs is having an auction next weekend, a number of military vehicles in it, and a lot of new and used parts, I noted on the website, REME recon Bedford MK engines, and many gearboxes and transfer boxes. http://www.malcolmharrison.co.uk/auctions/hamptons-auction.aspx
antar
Called in on my way home tonight, there are around 700 lots quite a lot of military stuff old and NOS. There is a Saracen restoration project, loads of Scammell Drops and a variety of Bedfords.

andym
I'm intrigued as to where this all came from in the first place. I'm assuming that Hamptons are/were a scrap dealer of some sort? Andy
sirhc
They are a scrap metal dealer, looks like most of it came from Withams!
andym
They are a scrap metal dealer, looks like most of it came from Withams! Which begs the obvious question of why Withams didn't sell it themselves! I certainly haven't seen any 432 packs go through their website. sirhc
I'm sure the packs would have gone through UK Surplus, they were tendering loads of them back when they were doing the Bulldog conversion. They have probably been at Hamptons since 2007 ish. UK Surplus lost the contract and closed down. Hamptons, like all the scrap dealers, bought lots from Withams over the years. Chris I bought a low (40) hours ex-Bulldog conversion pack from Liquibiz for the princely sum of £750. I didn't see any re-con packs out there at the time.
