Jack
Morning all. The end of the year is nearly here so for me this is always a time for looking back and reflecting upon events. So what were your highs of 2006? What was special for you?

Bodge Deep
In terms of MV stuff... Attending the last official reunion of the Burtonwood Base crews in the summer. Took part in a convoy taking them from Blackpool front to the event. Then being asked if i'd take a few of them up the road whilst a film crew interviewed them in the back for local TV. It was a great honor and a thrill to meet these guys. They all thanked me for the opportunity to ride again in an "Ammo Carrier" as they called it. I said that it was I who should be thanking them. Truly humbled by their humility. One of them at the end of the interview said that I drove the Dodge like a Sergeant! I had to ask if that was a good thing or a bad one! Apparently it was a good thing... well that's what he told me :-D Non MV stuff Lily my daughter who's 2... she makes me smile and laugh every day  & finding out that no. 2 will arrive at the end of feb
Marmite!! Jack
Been one hell of a year for me but then I don’t really know any different as I never know where or what I will be doing next – I like that sort of uncertainty. It has been another year of years and has been mainly based around meeting some extraordinary people and having some wonderful experiences so in no particular order: Have enjoyed the building of HMVF and pleased with the amount input people have put into it. Meeting Don Burgett 101st Screaming Eagle – must be my most favourite experience. Finishing my GMC. Writing for CMV. Driving my GMC down Weymouth high street during Weymouth Veterans Weekend. Holidaying in Normandy – must be my most favourite experience 2. Gathering of Eagles convoy. Meeting some of you guys from here. Flying 35,000 ft above the Atlantic at the same time as there was a bomb scare in the London airports and not knowing anything about it until I was bombarded with phone calls from my wife, friends and family. Wife’s life being in the book ‘Dorset Women’ – available from all good book shops. Having the CEO of Smith and Wesson call me looking to buy all of the stock that we had of a product that they needed. Finding the must have product of the year – Gorillapod! My company growing by 306% this year.

ArtistsRifles
Getting my first MV - at least, one that I own and not the Crown ;-) Now I've got little Maud the bug has bitten and plans are afoot for her to be joined by something in 2007. Outside the MV scene- our daughter getting an A* pass for 8 of the 12 GCSE's she sat this year.
ian2b
2006 has been a very hard year for me and my family but one of the best things to happen was the birth of my 3rd child in February. Little Ryan has kept me going during this year and is something very special to me. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i272/ian2b/100_3929.jpg[/img]

FV601 (R.I.P.)
Having a great turnout for our first show despite the weather (see Lee's post) Spending time with a great bunch of friends Finding a basket case rare Ferret for restoration (at a Very very reasonable price) and on the evil side  Peeing off some narrow minded people both here and at our local MVT "Don't ya just love it when a plan comes together" Its my hope that 2007 will be a lot better

woa2
My best bits of 2006 for me are :- 1. Watching my eldest Daughter awarded a Bsc in Adult Nursing in February and her starting work in A & E in QEH in Woolwich. 2. Driving my Ford WOA2 to Beltring for the first time after a 14 year restoration (I moved house in that time, which slowed the restoration down). http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q16/woa2/P7220074-1.jpg[/img] http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q16/woa2/CNV00029.jpg[/img] Robert Davey Reading
