sas pinkie
Differences: Top cover Feed Mech (FN Mag has a single finger, whilst the GPMG has two) Carry handle Front sling swivel Seer I think thats it. But yes in principle, the same weapon.
robin craig
I believe that the nut behind the bolt is different. R
steveo578
Barrel construction is different too -to the extent that they are probably not interchangable.
Chris Hall
I think the L7 GPMG is built to Imperial and the MAG to Metric spec also. Incidently, there are many Indian 'GPMG's on the market, recon'd by Manroy who also do Brit GPMGs and M2s. I'm not sure if the indian guns are Metric MAGs or Imperial L7 equivalents. AlienFTM
The GPMG is an FN MAG... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_MAG Indeed, to quote your friend wiki, The weapon's name is an abbreviation for Mitrailleuse d'Appui Général,[2] meaning general purpose machine gun (GPMG). Only when you start specifying more finely is there any difference between that described by the French name and that by the British, by which point there are specific differences by definition.
