johnguppy Posted September 9, 2009 Share Posted September 9, 2009 When we went to with Imps MD supplied us all with a hand wrtten export licence and we where told you cant leave the country without this guess what no one asked to see it going or comming back Now im off to Holland next week i spent 4 weeks appliing for the required documents for my 50 yr old vehicle finally being unable to print off or talk to my case worker i had a call saying well you dont need a licence you are on our system just if asked give them the Number !!!!! well said i i need a licence because everyone tells me i need one ok this chap said ill email it 4 days later a 4 page licence arrived no vehicle details because u dont have to give them but at then end it says!!!!! not valid unless siged and stamped !! by who i thought Forgive me but this is crap and pooh and there is going to be no one who is ever going to be asked to see this or even ask to see this let alone stamp and sign it If you have a millarty vehicle that is not british then you dont need a licence my pinz ill have to contact the swiss goverment to see if i can go to holland Come on chaps lets rebel a law thats been around for 50 yrs and not policed lets face it the more people who appliy the more chance these underworkd people who work from 9-12 2-4 and never ans the phone im sure this would go towards the 10% cuts the goverment want to make Im not going to take my less than 50yr old vehicles out of the country ever Lets all put a £1 into the hat so the first person stopped and has his vehicle taken away only untill he gets his licence we can compisate his ticket Those of us who restore and keep these fine vehicles running to surport shows and even the MOD in arrangeing parades in front of HM need help These are our history and we all spend our hard earned money to keep them road worthy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And have you been out practicing with your longbow latley? julezee001 Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 A great trip this year with the weather, and the campsite both better than last year. 10/10 to Tony Lawrence, and the other club officials for all their time devoted to organising, negotiating and planning it all. Thanks is also due to the French police who as always did a great job of escorting the convoy, along with the NLBA and other bike riders. A good selection of vehicles turned out, and as far as I know everyone enjoyed the trip. The only major hassle that I'm aware of was for the Scammell Crusader bringing the T34 out and then back. Dover delayed their travelling by 18 hours out, and almost 10 hours on the return trip. Too heavy, too wide, "more than my jobs worth", etc. Never asked for my "Export license" for the Militant, what a waste of time! As requested some photos.
