  3. Hello, I came across this landrover on my travels. It's got range rover running gear and the owner says the markings are original. Can anyone tell me more about it please? Thanks
  4. Hello, Countersunk coach bolts now there's an even harder thing to find. What a great way to make them. Is that an ordinary coach bolt you start with? I take it the die you've made is hardened? Have you got any pictures of the finished bolts? A couple of us need some for the mw bodys so will be looking at making some too. thanks
  5. We made the mistake when we did my dads ql many years ago. If you put it in the normal way it won't work and the springs willl foul the pressure plate.
  6. Did you notice the clutch plate is the wrong way round when you took it apart?
  7. Here's a late friend of mine next to one, taken in the 1950's in berlin.
  8. Hello, This is a problem i had when i started restoring my bedford. What would be the right colour to paint it? I think the problem is there were so may shades of a similar colour. I think the only way to get the original colour is find some of the original paint on the vehicle and have that copied. Thats the advice i was given and it worked well for me.
  9. Hello tomas, Not for moving horses, but for moving house! Is this one? And http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?15113-Bedford-ML-Ambulance-find.....
  10. Hello, I picked this tyre up in a lot of 900x16 i bought.
  11. I could pick it up for you, its not to far from me, pay cash and send it over to you.
  12. Sorry my mistake, it is the possibly is the same vehicle hanno asked about, but not the one the original post was about. :nut:
  13. I dom't think it is the same vehicle. I think the one on milweb came from france.
  14. Hello owl, Have you got any pictures of your MW. The chassis number is usually stamped on the passenger side of the chassis, inbetween the cab step brackets.
  15. Hello Richard, thats what i thought, but on that chassis number? Seems odd they would have fitted the bellows so late in production.
  16. Hello kpt, Nice work, what does the brass plate, on the bulkhead by the airfilter, have written on it? Cheers
  17. Hello, Here's an intresting picture can anyone help date it? Is that a hilman or a commer van in the line up. I recognise the crossley but what are the rest? The company i work for were involved aircarft production during the war and this is there fleet of vehicles at that time. It looks like the commer painted up in the company livery is the latest arrival so may help date it. It seems odd the company vehicle line up would include two RAF vehicles. At first we thought it was a post war picture and the vehicles had been bought at disposals, but on closer inspection the RAF markings were noticed. Here;s a link to the companys website http://www.smceuroclamp.com/our-profile.asp. Thanks.
  18. hello gordon, I had a pair 0f lucas L140's done for the bedford by these guys, http://www.vintage-headlamp-restoration.com/ Mine are 7" diameter and i think it cost me £20 each and they were very good.
  19. Come on jack keep up!! There's a post on this fine forum of yours about it :-D
  20. Hello cubed one, There was an auto box produced for the gmc engine, it was used in one of the american amoured cars, sorry i can't tell you which one as american truck arn't my thing  (possibly the staghound?). I came across it many years ago when george saunders turned up some gmc engines and these turned out to be from these armoured cars, from what i can remember the armoured cars had two gmc engines which were handed left and right and the auto box's were part of this set up. A member of the north west club rebuilt one of the engine for his gmc and told me about them being left and right etc. Sorry i can't be of more help but it was all about 20 years ago, but maybe this might jog the minds of other forum members. Edit: Just looked on wikipedia and it is the staghound, so the bedford research hasn't replaced everything else just yet!!! Eddy 8men has had contact with george recently and will be able to give you his contact details maybe he still has the auto boxs or at least tell you where they went.
  21. Hello, The can is the same as the british petrol jerry can but with water stamped into the side, and painted tan, post war they were painted black you see them on champs. 2 Gallon cans were also used for water with pow (petrol or water) painted on.
  22. I know where the bedford MW used in the film lives, its just under gone a major restoration, now its back in green paint.
  23. Hello Marmon, I think the mw has been on here before..... but the location was unknown. Richard if you look at the doors it might refresh you memory!!!
