  2. What exactly were you using to generate 300tons, I'm amazed you didn't bend whatever you were pushing against?
  3. Yes, big problem was that they could be fitted with various types of fuses, air burst, impact, time delay and anti handling.
  4. I saw that, it's in international waters so theoretically available to whoever gets there first.
  5. U23 was available from 1935, this is the early version:
  6. Does it not say 'transport d'eau' on the side and rear? Bit of a guess but it looks like it.
  7. If you have access to a compressor and a decent DC welder a gouging rod will make mincemeat of that race in minutes.
  8. Might it be Abbeville, although the name Mertens suggests Belgian/Dutch??
  9. Armourgeddon claim they have 15 432 30s, some ex Berlin and some they converted themselves with the Rarden modified for paintball use. They felt somewhat top heavy compared to a normal one.
  10. They seem to be in short supply atm, a quick search found some 3/4" ones if you can use them or cut them down to 5/8"? https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/warehouse/assortments-and-fasteners/hardware-screws-bolts-nuts-washers-studs-etc/countersunk-screw/5-16-unf-with-slotted-head.html
  11. Most probably, they used KC and AJ from 1943 on.
  12. Also used for Upkeep. Contrary to common belief the 8000lb and 12000lb Cookies were a larger diameter than the 4000lb and not just 4000lb units bolted together as can be seen in this photo.
  13. Are they integral, captive or might they be separate washers like the old Scammells?
  14. Did the film about the Great Train Robbery not use an ex AFS Bedford RL which was not released until about 1990?
  15. 23 Base Workshop was the huge facility at Wetter in Germany. Rather an appropriate name as it was flooded by the bombing of the Mohne dam. FA was 1967/68 and the VRN site shows 04FA36 as an FV432 mk2 with Rarden turret for Berlin. Your plate reads APC and the 9 in the FV number looks like it has been changed, were the FV439s a conversion from FV432s?
  16. The shell they have pictured claiming it is the same type is also wrong, it has '7cwt' on the side which is the weight of the 6pdr barrel + breach.
  17. Well spotted, saw it on the phone earlier and just got in and fired up the desktop!

  19. Similar to a Renault of the same era.
  20. I think you will find the CAV part number for the nozzle holders begin with BKBL not BK8L.The nozzles have a separate number beginning with BDLL.
  21. Let us know what you find but connecting batteries in parallel is not a good idea. A 12V centre tap from a pair of batteries in series is also bad.
