  1. Correct if Wiki is to be believed, Mk13 looks like the final incarnation.
  2. Later Chieftain versions were 750bhp with a claimed service life of 4000 miles. It was also designed as a multifuel power unit but took years of development to rectify the liner seals and other issues.
  3. Blame my wife's grandfather, he was an area general manager in the Welsh coalfields and was seconded to the Royal Engineers to supervise the construction of the tunnels.
  4. Not shown on the print but I assume it still had a supercharger/blower to aid starting?
  5. No 5 looks like Barry Weatherhead as I remember him from 40 years ago??
  6. Bank account or not 'Peter' has placed an advert on Milweb today, 20/02/23: We need large numbers of military vehicles to complete orders for Ukraine. cvrt’s all variants. Especially Spartan Samaritan sultan. 430 series all variants, especially Abbott, 432, 434. Combat engineer tractors. Chieftains. Ferrets all marks Saracens all marks Snatch landrovers Pinzgauer vectors
  7. The 7.50 dimension does not apply to the tread width but the maximum tyre width when inflated on the recommended width rim. There is quite a variation between makes, a Pirelli tyre we sell in a 225/40 R18 size is almost exactly 225mm in width but the same size Bridgestone is almost 245mm.
  8. Not wanting to upset the applecart but there was a 5ft diameter spherical warhead used in Blue Danube, an early non boosted weapon. It would have been used inside a streamlined 24ft long weapon case to give stability.

  10. No, not downloadable but telling me there is a copy at my local library just a mile away.
  11. Not a great help but 17EK70, 17EK71 and 18EK14 were Militants. EK is listed for B and D vehicles 1962/63
  12. It was the C6 powered Rotinoff Atlantic and C8 Super Atlantic that had worm drives similar to the Antar.
  13. Later RPG32 with a tandem warhead can punch through 750mm armour or 650mm with ERA at 90 degrees.
  14. Not sure about the 300TDI but diesels often have an oxidation catalytic converter in addition to a particulate filter.
  15. I presume you read the caption under the photo on Wiki, it is a Ford F15 4x2 15cwt in North Africa, part of the CMP family.
  16. https://www.milweb.net/classifieds.php?search_term=antar&type=&image.x=0&image.y=0
  17. DVLA have it as a Rhino with the reg UXM312. Built in 1959, registered in 1984 and currently untaxed, it was (is?) on display at Bovington.
  18. Looking at the rear hubs it is indeed a Mk3 John although the few Mk2s made were tested with 2 versions of multifuel engines, most likely 690 and 760. Both were disasters and the Mk3 ended up with an AV760 diesel.
  19. This one perhaps, the original caption claims a mk3 but 1966 and lhd suggests it might be a Mk2? Also a photo of the original wartime version which looks like it was based on the AEC 6x6 tanker chassis.
  20. Only a model but seems to have the rounded rear arches. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/matador-models-aa76-2-fordson-wot-1--1315097
  21. Modern rims are hub centric while yours will be centered by conical or spherical wheel nuts. As Mammoth has mentioned, you may find that Scammell Explorer or AEC militant wheels might work with 14.00x20 tyres, they have a 3" and a 7" split rim to give a 10" wide wheel which can be fitted either way round to give a 2" offset on the rear and 2" inset on the front.
  22. Correct, if you look at the image for 72FG90 on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/362258363751716602/ it has one of each! The AFC ones retained the short arm on the A pillar.
  23. Hi Rob, Anything like these, I can just make out 'BD' on one of the labels? Top arm is about 17", distance between mounts is about 27". Also got a single which I believe to be a mk2/3 Militant arm with 90 degree bends.
