  1. Superb work Tomo, are the letters handed on either side or the same?
  2. I think most of us realised you replied to the wrong thread😀
  3. Where did I mention 'user name', I was referring to his business contact details at the bottom left of the listing?
  4. Yes I noticed that, did the Russians buy kit from the UK, was it supplied FOC or was there a lend-lease arrangement?
  5. A bit of digging shows that Cox Properties Ltd company 04554663 as claimed on the ebay listing was dissolved on 14/10/14. It could be that he has not updated his information on ebay but it is out of order to claim he is a legit company when clearly that is not the case. The given phone number comes up as unobtainable.
  6. Looks like a no 1 scissor bridge used with Covenanter and Valentine bridge layers as suggested in the listing.
  7. Hi Ed, a brief scan of the current regs suggests that towing trailers with a car licence may be an issue: What you can tow The rules on what you can tow are different depending on when you passed your driving test. View your driving licence information to see if you’re allowed to tow. Licences issued from 1 January 1997 If you passed your car driving test on or after 1 January 1997 you can: drive a car or van up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (MAM) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM tow a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as the combined MAM of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg MAM is the limit on how much the vehicle can weigh when it’s loaded. You have to pass the car and trailer driving test if you want to tow anything heavier. Licences issued before 1 January 1997 If you passed your car test before 1 January 1997 you’re usually allowed to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8,250kg MAM. View your driving licence information to check. You’re also allowed to drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kg MAM. Towing heavier combinations Follow these steps if you want to tow heavier combinations. Apply for provisional licence for a medium-sized lorry and trailer (category C1+E). Pass the lorry theory test. Pass the C1+E driving test.

  9. Keruing is not great for painting as it releases resin, it also has a reputation for causing infections should you get a splinter.

  13. Does the book mention the trials Foden Recoveries which were based on a similar chassis cab to yours? IIRC there were five of them but they didn't have the crane as fitted to production vehicles.
  14. Binliner- also used to describe the waste trains going to landfill sites.

  16. Yet 3 years later we were building the K class steam powered submarines. Before diving the oil boilers had to be shut down, vented and a deck tour made to ensure the funnels were correctly stowed and the myriad of vents and other orifices were closed....

  18. I would believe anything when the MoD is concerned but the DESA info suggests that Veolia only deals in waste. They cover thenselves by referring to 'special waste' which could cover just about anything. DESA contractors Each of the DESA contracts have been competed through the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) tender procedures, and are regularly audited against strict contractual obligations, and are compliant with environmental and health and safety regulations. These contracts not only supply a collect to dispose service, but also offer a wide range of refurbished items for sale and ensure that the minimum of assets enter landfill. There are contracts with the following companies: There are contracts with the following companies: Brightwells: vehicles and vehicles spares Fire Protection Recycling Ltd: fire extinguishers Ecycle: secure and non-secure IT and related equipment European Metal Recycling Ltd: scrap metals and lead acid batteries Leafield Logistics: military spares from naval stock Slicker: petrol, oils and lubricants VEBEG: surplus MOD equipment from Germany Veolia Environmental Services Ltd: hazardous/non-hazardous and special waste Field Textiles: clothing and textiles RAMCO UK Ltd: miscellaneous items Agility-GOSD - Global Overseas Sales and Disposals (GOSD) Agility - Military spares from Air and Land Contact DESA

  20. It's simply not PC and against current health and safety regulations. Apart from littering the countryside there is the possibility of striking a bystander known as brass on blue.
  21. I'm guessing the 1500bhp MTU Euro Power Pack as trialled in the Challenger 2E may end up as the power train??
