    Coast

What a fantastic programme this is. I don't know if anyone else has seen it but the last few weeks have had quite a military link to them. First off, I didn't realise that just off the Kent coast there were five/six steel structures which used to have anti-aircraft guns on them. Then the next episode saw them cross over the channel to Normandy where Dick Strawbridge was in a halftrack on the beaches. :yay::-D
  2. Hi Matt and welcome to the forum. I think one of the obvious one to do would be the Austin Gipsy as I have only ever saw one prototype model on the internet a few years ago. We have spent many an hour at shows looking out for a model but have never found one yet.
  3. As a day visitor I really enjoyed Route to Victory. I thought it was just excellent and to be greeted by an armoured column rolling down the road towards you made it even better!!! Obviously The Great Dorset Steam Fair is up there, no matter how many times I go I always enjoy it. Just a shame it's only for the four days this year and not the usual eight because of work.
  4. He has enough to play with already when he is down there!!! :-D
  5. It is, it's the one on this thread below http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=13245
  6. Was this the same one that was at The GDSF last year? If so it looked good there as well when working, if I remember right doesn't this one come off the back and move on its own tracks?

    Ex-Military??

:rofl:Very true, it is certainly a bit different to :coffee:
  8. Oooohhh not bad from me from just those two pics :-D As regards which model I haven't got a clue

    Ex-Military??

I thought it was something Russian thanks for clearing that up. Certainly something different!!! :-D
  10. Is this ex-military? I took this at Donnington in 2008 ahead of the Download Festival. Have just been going through some old pictures so thought I would stick it up.
  11. My point exactly. As at the beginning no-one really knows how big shows are going to get so the room up North somewhere wouldn't be a problem at first.
  12. Cheers for the video Andy, watch out for the second Antar sliding around a bit right at the start!!! Thanks for all the other clips as well, almost like being at the show:-D
  13. Very true as there isn't another site like it except for Dorset. But shows don't start on such a big a scale as W&P so at the beginning that wouldn't be a problem. It would need to be based at some kind of showground, but I doubt they would appreciate there grounds becoming churned up :-D
  14. We drove the Gipsy once along with the caravan from Staffordshire and that took us 7 hours each way!!! The only thing we passed coming all the way home was a couple of halftracks :-D
  15. It is a brilliant show and I have missed going down for the day this year as have been to the last two following a couple of years break before that. Like it has been said though something a bit further north would be nice, but shows the size of W+P don't appear over night. Perhaps one day Wartime in the Vale will be just as big (according to what I have heard how good it was), who knows. I would have liked to have attended the new IMPS show but again its even further into Kent than W+P. But then if these shows were all up north then people down south would be having the same conversation.:shake::-D I can see where out Scottish members are coming from though!!
  16. They sure manage to throw up something different every year don't they!!! Cheers for the pics Tim:-D
  17. Going back to this months CMV I did think that being a 100 page bumper issue there may have been a bit more about Normandy 2009 in it. I know it is split into two parts but to have just the two articles on the biggest MV event of the last six weeks was not what I was expecting.
  18. Go on admit everyone got excited by the title of the thread :-D:rofl:
  19. It was listed four years ago though lol
  20. No probs Colin. Nope I didn't have a vehicle over in France, just have an avid interest in them.
  21. Certainly fitted in well with the display at Ver-sur-Mer Colin!!! :-D
  22. It looked brilliant and obviously it looked like a lot of work had gone into it. Isn't it a mystery where all these old trucks disappear to over the years and I should imagine a little down-heartening for people like yourself when you have spent so much time on getting them into that condition.
