  1. Cheers both for your replies. LoggyDriver, I remember reading about this event now and with it not being too far away I might pay it a visit as it looked like a half decent event. I've seen some pretty dodgy weather anytime of the year when I've been to shows but like you say let's hope for a good summer this time around weatherwise.:undecided: If you could post a link up when it's on the website that would be great.
  2. What is this show as I've not heard of it before LoggyDriver? Have you got a link for a website as I can't seem to find anything on the Stratford Armouries website. Chevpol, what show is that near Stoke then as that one could be slightly closer to home?
  3. Just found this picture of a Pioneer at Harrisons yard in Sheffield, Some other great pictures on here of all sorts of different trucks also.
  4. Don't forget the American helicopter disguised as a German one in Where Eagles Dare!!
  5. cough cough (looks at my age) :cool2::-D Happy Birthday Younggun!!
  6. Yeah thats right Retriever it was June 2007.
  7. I wouldn't get put off going to GDSF by what you have read on here LD. It's an experience that everyone should at least have once in their life. Yes there are some Gypsies but the site has plenty of one-site security that do do a good job. We have taken our vehicle for the past ten years and have never had any trouble when we have been.
  8. A couple more for the collection. The bottom one having a new lease of life in the tractor pulling arena.
  9. Nice, just looking at the colour scheme of it from the back did Billy Smarts Circus have any of these?
  10. My membership card, magazine and calendar arrived today and was there ready and waiting for when I got in from work. I quite like the calendar (it will be hanging up by my PC) and have had a quick look through the magazine and there seems like there is plenty of interesting stuff inside once again.
  11. Hopefully Degsy. All I can do now is wait and see!!!:-D
  12. I sent off my membership form on Wednesday. Do you think I will get the latest edition or will it be the New Year one now would you say?
  13. Cheers for these Rick. Wasn't there something a couple of years ago where there were some pictures found taken by Spitfires of the actual D-Day beaches while the landings were taking place?
  14. I too felt that the paper quality was way down in this issue, it was the same as what they have used for the classifieds for the past few months. It is a shame as I thought that over the last six months there had been some cracking issues.
  15. Slightly improved 321 lol I'm getting close to that top score.
  16. 320.8 after about ten goes. This could get addictive, oh well nothing better to do while watching the cricket on a Sunday afternoon!!
  17. I think this was a repeat as well mate as was on during the summer, http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=14111 If I remember isn't this the one where he shows what lay just a couple of inches underneath the invasion beaches and how much investigation had gone into finding out about the different routes to stick to on the beaches or something like that?

    WW1 Steam?

Built a year too late for WW1 was McLaren Road Locomotive Boadicea which is seen below. Being built in 1919 it was one of 55 that was made for the War Office to pull 49mm guns. I took some pictures of it at work at Dorset over the past few years. The first picture it is the second engine in the line-up while the second picture shows the back-end which gives a good view of the split coal box so that the crew could get on and off it easier.
  19. A few more of the Manston Fire Museum's collection.
  20. Still pretty much the same as it was when I saw it a couple of years ago, as seen below.
  21. The bottom picture is of a Tracked Rapier missile launcher, I think. As regards to the other two I'm not sure, something more modern though and perhaps new into service.

    Site move

Did it go down again for a little while this afternoon for anyone else or was it just me :??? About 2pm was last time I tried to log on and it came up as an error.
  23. Cheers Richard for the extra information. Mike's earlier pictures show that the other Thornycroft is still there but is the MK7?
  24. This was at East Kirkby a couple of years ago is it still?
  25. Here we go. I thought I had some shots of the ones at East Kirkby, the only problem was that the sun was facing right into the camera when I visited.
