  1. Not very easy, only thing they have swapped is the number plates.
  2. I will be coming down in the 101. Nice to bring something of my own this year.
  3. The 101 Club is very good for a specific make club. Decent magazine backed up with a good forum and website. Also makes alot of effort to source hard to find parts or have bits re-made to keep them on the road.
  4. Hi John, Its a great truck, had a good look over it when it was with the last owners. Even still had the saw in the wrappers on the cab bulkhead behind the rear seat! Do you plan on keeping the crane and huge ground anchor or restoring it?
  5. You can use the banana type individual plugs for the dash sockets, Cheap as chips from maplin. The twin military plugs turn up from time to time.
  6. You need to solder the wires on the Natoplug end.
  7. A converter cable is easy enough to make up, i used normal 7 core trailer cable and made up a lead to suit. I have one for each way. I did have a pin diagram for the military plug but cant find it right now. Sure someone will be along that has one.
  8. Few Mog owners on here and its nearly that time again. http://www.foodfight.org.uk/mogstock2009/ Friday 29th May to Saturday 31st May 2009 at Coney Green Farm, Bewdley, Worcestershire. Now being Mog less i will be taking the 101 along to compare.
  9. Well done, I know the feeling when you find out you passed. I passed my C+E last week. Best tip i can give is relax as much as you can and enjoy it.
  10. I see you spent most the weekend of the Royal Ordnance Factory Nottingham web site.
  11. Probably the best place to ask is http://www.101club.org/forums/ Its been years since i stripped the back out of an ambi.
  12. Looks odd to see one with the canopy frame over the crane seat.
  13. Get a 101, V8 powered heater is great. :-D
  14. Wont the wire wheel on your grinder remove the glue? They tend to shift most stuff i have ever hit with one.
  15. Then once recovered listen again and drive back in!
  16. Which i why i have spent a considerable amount of money on getting my license last year and will finish off getting my C+e this year. I would have loved to spend the cash on a big green truck rather than a few letters on my driving license but now i can go and drive what i like without worry about police or Vosa hiding behind the next hedge. I understand you have medical issues which personally prevent you holding the licence, but how long would the topic be on getting around the loop holes if there was a non-vocational option but you wanted to help a mate move something on your truck?
  17. I understand it that the kit is to protect the crew from the radio radiation emited from the radio ariel's when transmitting. You see warning stickers on the body next to the ariel's. I have cut open one of the panels to fit the kit inside my 101 as extra insulation. Its a layer of foil wrapped foam then sealed in the outer plastic green cover to protect the inner layer.
  18. I dont know how many little differences there are but the first two obvious ones are the mk2 having a winch up front and the mk2 has the central lube system with the oil tank as part of the hull crossmember. I would be tempted to take the mechanicals out of the mk 2 and use them in the mk1 hull.
  19. Yep if you look at the very first picture posted by Andy on this thread its the same one. Now owned by Grumpy and in very regular use.
  20. Err sort of. After a weekends work she is now like this. She has been saved from being cut up by the scrap man but a Tanker is no use to us. It will soon be sporting a replacement beaver tail body so we can get our stuff to the shows and have a bit more carrying capacity over the current Volvo. So it should be making the trip to W & P this year.
  21. Grumpys new toy arrived in the yard this weekend.
  22. The soloution is to put the soft top back on. I never managed to seal the hard top even after silicon sealer in every obvious hole and painting it.
