  1. Once again Clive your outstanding. That top pic would fit the bill perfectly.:
  2. It could well have been a UBRE, Was tempting Grumpy to put a bid on the set of tanks and pump they had in the last Witham Tender.
  3. The Armoured 110's used in NI had Sailsbury front axles too. Could have been Snatch or what was before them? Memory is a bit fuzzy this morning. But i remember the advert from Blanchards breaking them for spares. ENV axles were used on the later FC's such as this one i picked up for someone over the weekend.
  4. Cant see it being damage, as there is one exactly the same on the other side. Thanks Bazz. Will get Grumpy to look into it further as he plans on sending of for the history. Cheers.
  5. Been removing the glass and needle gunning the cab of the Stolly and we have found this marking on both sides of the cab. Any ideas on its meaning? It looks like it has been over painted ontop of a previous but same marking. Also it has a patch of red oxide paint under each of the sliding side windows that isnt present anywhere else on the cab. Looks as if something has been removed or sanded back then a quick coat of primer before re-painting in Green? Any suggestions on either welcome. Cheers
  6. I see yours suffers the same water marks on the screen.
  7. Hi Al, All the best for xmas and the new year.

    Cheers

    Jon.

  8. Mike, You may have seen these but there is a few photos of a Eager Beaver about half way down the page. http://www.rofnottingham.co.uk/06_products_03.htm
  9. I would agree and say start with wheel bearings and steering ball joints. I can also be caused by a loose wheel, checked your nuts recently? :cool2: And exagerated by a wheel out of balance.
  10. I plan on going, along with Grumpy and Gary.
  11. You need the key to turn the barrel to line the pin with the hole. Just drill out the barrels if you dont have a key.
  12. Thanks for the answers. I happened to end up in helfrauds yesterday and they had some nice led lamps that were rechargable. I will collar our Ring guy next time he is in the shop and see what they can offer. Should be handy for the back of the truck and as a work lamp for breakdowns.
  13. I need a source of light in the back of the 101 and was thinking of mounting a penthouse type lamp on one of the hood sticks. Whats the going rate for these? There are some on ebay but prices seem a bit steep. Also they all seem to be 24v and the 101 is 12v, is the bulb available in a easily sourced 12v type? Cheers Jon.
  14. Has it had the original one replaced with a civvy member or is it a CL Spec landrover with is a military landrover based on a civvy spec truck? Easy way to tell if it has external fuel filler or is military under seat fill tanks.
  15. The cab on that Daf 3500 reminds of the front screen of the Tatra 813.
  16. As the old John Smith Ad says 'Top Bombing!'
  17. I am going to base mine on a Forward repair team wagon. This has a bunk at the front and storage chests which make it great for use at shows and other weekends away. The crane on the second one looks like its only to pick up the draw bar. So it should be able to tow the 4 ton limit the 101 was designed for (yep i know 3.5 ton on the road unless fitted with additional brake systems for the pedantics here.) The Crane in the second pic is up for sale. :cool2: It has been removed from the original 101. From memory the one with the side mounted crane is one of two that was used for light dutys like engine and gear boxes on Landrovers? That has support legs under the side of the crane to stop it listing over with a load on the hook.
  18. Dunno what the history is but its going to be reme to keep company with Grumpys Militant and Garys Tiffy 432.
  19. I originally posted a pic of this Reme fitters 101 in the museums thread. I think its worth showing it again here and a rear view of the same.
  20. Got any pic's? Sounds like a great show set up.
  21. You think you can wind me up as easily as Mike?
  22. Yep they look to small but they are the only readily available off the shelf tyre we have available that will fit on the 101's narrow rim. We had some 8 inch wide 6 stud rims made in a small batch which soon sold and we cant get any more made.
