  1. I thought the red and white paint came out to go along with the shiny deep bronze green, post war. trevor
  2. Well, one might have a different perspective if one were really interested in buses. For me, I am just glad that someone is interested enough to put the effort in.
  3. I notice that this one has different driving wheels, is this a later one or something? trevor
  4. And is that a roll-up he's smoking? Obviously a true craftsman!
  5. I am surprised that the king pins are the same as another model except for the groove for the retaining pin. Why would they change the position? Whatever, do you think there is a chance they simply bought the wrong king pins new? trevor
  6. Because they chose a value they could get without the costs of contesting - which would consume the tax they received. trevor
  7. If you do find that you have to pay the original VAT, don't forget to ask to have it reduced by the VAT you paid on purchase. trevor
  8. It is possible that this was an on-going project, on which many apprentices worked, and which still remains a work in progress. trevor
  9. Well, that is the advantage of a sidevalve engine, the valve doesn't drop onto the piston Glad to see you have found the problem! trevor
  10. Well, I assume it is being driven through water, so it will be getting a bit of a cleaning... trevor
  11. Wow! Sadly, I know nothing about these things. Have they bonded rubber onto the wheels, like the full size tank? trevor
  12. Well, hi and welcome, we are always glad to hear things Militant trevor
  13. I like the sound of that, do you have all those things to go in your trailer? trevor
  14. Have you seen the trailer on the jeep on this page? http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=51576 trevor
  15. I have no idea what engine you have, but if it is an OHV can you run it without the rocker cover. Second, have you pulled the leads off the spark plugs, one by one, to see what difference that makes? And - what is it like inside the distributor? Nothing loose? trevor
  16. So the front wings and the back quarters were redeveloped at some point, and the doors left off. trevor
  17. I see, so I suppose in service you would just change the whole wheel if the tyre was damaged, which would mean that they kept spare wheels in stock?
  18. If it where a German Tiger you would now be talking to a largely empty forum, as we would have all been down at the docks considering ship rentals.... trevor
  19. So how are the tyres actually fitted to the wheels? Are they bonded onto the wheels, bonded onto a steel ring, or simply a tight press fit on the wheel? I don't really know a lot about solid tyres, but find them worryingly fascinating. trevor
  20. So the choices so far are: - make visitors oily - poison visitors with zinc - lacquer the table hmmmm... trevor
  21. Because the spare wheel is in the way? I assume they planned to have enough time to turn around? trevor
  22. Yes, just make sure you keep it covered up as playing with that really is a way of sending you blind... trevor
  23. Other than the fat tyres, it is much like the trail bike I built from a Honda C70. I pulled it out of many a mud hole by simply hauling on the front wheel while holding onto a tree of something... trevor
  24. Good luck with the changes, we'll be here, waiting.... trevor
  25. What is this 105mm recoilless they were using? I am not that familiar with such weapons, but would like to know. trevor
