  3. Yes, I see what you mean, those sandbags could rot away to nothing!
  4. Yes, though they have long moved to a new site in the town. It might not have been the welding trolley but another trolley, because I remember we had to use a welding flame to release the bearings. Ah, there were so any things there that I did not realize the significance of at the time - like the Morrison shelter
  5. Traditionally the babcia (grandmother) runs on it, as they, as head of the indoor part of the household would want a good reason why their essential liquor is being put in the car. After all, there is always the horse.
  6. I had forgotten, at a former site of Caffyns/Haywards where I used to work the welding bottle trolley had carrier wheels, I think those things were everywhere...
  7. Ah, you mean 'spirytus' vodka. You should add enough of the fruit juice of your choice so that it is merely strong. It is then known as 'Nalewka'. I have it a lot, people often serve it like a liqueur at the end of a meal, well, those meals where there has not already been many shots of vodka.... trevor, in deepest eastern Poland

  14. OK, not quite sure what the weld is for, but that looks like a crack to me. Is that weld holding on a stud?
  15. I am following your rebuild with pleasure!
  16. Ah, it is nice to see someone doing things only heard of and not seen during my apprenticeship.
  17. That is what I was thinking as well. But where is the wedge? Surely it would be stored on the trailer somewhere.
  18. Oh my, and it looks like you will soon have those wheels off...
  19. Wow! Of course, as one goes on, the parts get smaller and more fiddly to fit...
  20. *steps carefully back* Possibly from the WW2 coastal defence guns? trevor
  21. My question is - what sea? That could help decide who may of fired them and so what kind of weapon. They look to me like 25mm calibre, and there were some WW2 era anti-aircraft guns that fired such size, and possibly some still do. trevor edit - just looked on Wikipedia and the Russians also used a 23mm calibre. a possibility of you have been hunting the Baltic coast for amber
  22. Is it for a glider pilot? It's a long time since I have seen a badge like that.
  23. I have no regrets for the stuff I have sold, scrapped, had stolen etc, I always prefer what I am working on now. However, if I wake up one morning and find there is a rusty, beige Mini Traveller sitting outside, I will go back to bed until it goes away. :-D
  24. Yes, Piotr, I am interesting and I live in Lublin, home of the Żuk I have seen plenty of Nysa's in military use, but do you know of any pictures of Żuks doing anything military? Or did they only do civilian stuff? trevor
