  1. I've got one. It the piece of kit of preference for me.
  2. Welcome in. So when dosen't a MV owner have something in pices? :-D The two wheel experts will be along soon.
  3. Wait till she starts wanting to work in 1:1 scale. :-D She has every reason to be proud of that.
  4. There is still the question of the dancing girls.
  5. An ideal tool the Gunson as you don't need anyone else to keep topping the master cylinder up. There is however if you have a compressor a vacum bleeder as well. This has advantages on large systems. The main problem with the Gunson is you need a cap to fit the master and it can be a pain to seal. The vacum bleeder fits over brake cylinder nipple.
  6. First of all there is an embarrsing mistake you can make (I know I did it, and it cost me a lot of sweat and blue air) Undo the bleed screw on the top of the fuel tank filler. The other thing if it has sat, muck in the carb. Take out all the jets and clean them.
  7. It seems to be a 'Parent' thing. My Mother cleared out a load of my 'Old Junk'. Worth a bloody fortune now. :iamsmiling:
  8. I own two, 'Cause I can! :yay: yes I do take them to shows, if I'm asked nicely and like the sound of it. But mainly they are great fun. Now with Grandchildren, they are more value than money in the bank, but mainly it is for me to enjoy. I have over the years done some interesting things, and met interesting people, but when show organisers start laying down rules and regulations and expecting me to pay to go there. S*D OFF! If we don't come all you have is an empty field. Plus the atmosphere around many events, I don't need it. If it stops being fun for me, I won't do it.
  9. As pre 1960 vehicles in UK are exempt MOT, what can be said ' It lights up'?
  10. Welcome in, wish I had a garden like that.:-D
  11. Welcome in. The Hams should be along soon.
  12. Welcome in. The history of VW with the British Army is a whole story in itself. After WW2 the VW factory was visited by Major Ivan Hurst REME who founds bits of Bettles. The bits were assembled and submitted to the occupation forces who took it on. British motor manufactures, including Ford, were offered the VW factory as a free gift. The Muppets turned it down!
  13. The very early models had the accelarator in the middle position. That can get very exciting at times. :wow: The two unlisted boxes to the right of the driver, just at shoulder level are the batteries, another fun thing for the Euro NCAP score. The top of the engine cover has two brass plates, one is lubrication, can't remember the other now. Long time since I drove one. (And I don't miss it!)
  14. Welcome in. If you get to picky, don't worry! Sandbags can applied as appropriate. :-D
  15. White metal rebearing done last year on an engine was about £450. That was a 12 hp Wolsey engine.
  16. Same happened in Jersey, stuff was melted down for scrap, dumped at sea in Hurd's Deep, or just chucked off the cliffs.
