  1. A gentleman my Mother worked for started as a private in WW2, he told me his first vehicle was a Pickford Pantechnecon. Every time a convoy came to a low bridge, he had to detour miles around it.
  2. At her age she can probably master a smartphone and the remote. Why shouldn't she be able to deal with a mere Lancaster? :-D
  3. What a sad affliction, there is a very positive action you can take to solve this problem. Buy more Dodges. :cool2: Welcome in.
  4. A black powder licence used to be write to the local authority then get it by return post. Now there are a lot more restrictions on storage. A 12 bore blank can be very impressive when fired from an artillery piece and a lot simpler than loading black powder charges.
  5. OK, we didn't get that bit. Can you put the shovel back down and stand on it so it hits you in the B**** again? Or my favourite comment on one film said to me after the Director shouted to us 'OK follow the Queen. 'In this company. Which one?
  6. You'll be denying your self a great adventure! :-D Just make sure you have breack down cover.
  7. Ah that's a whole new world of Beurocracy. Also in your case expanding ammunition. Bl**dy Hell, your FAO must be in turmoil! :-D
  8. Utt, in your case the need for a firearm would be considered the same as a slaughter man. Special dispensation would apply. As an aside, in your case, if you can prove Vetinary use, you could also apply for a Home Office Section 5 certificate. The reason being, dart guns, either rifle, pistol or blow guns, discharge a noxious substance, ie the Immobilon, which is a Section 5 weapon.
  9. Check with your insurance company! They are normally quite happy to cover you from collection to home on a foreign plate, but it must be direct. It is worth keeping an itenary of where and when you started , ferry tickets and time cleared customs in UK etc with you on the trip, so if something does happen you can document your compliance.
  10. Yes Sir! Sorry Sir. :writing: Though the one thing that I do miss about going to W&P is the variety of people from so many places.
  11. Met police have licensced 25 lb guns, also Wiltshire and Essex come to think of it. Your FAO should be in a position to ask for info. Just don't get fobbed off by Guidlines. As a last resort you can apply to a Crown Court.
  12. Not far off! The two fleets have had there diffrences over the years. :-D
  13. My ancsestors were, why do you think Jersey owns England! :trustme: Anyway I thought you went via the River Medway? Off track a bit do you know the origin of the The Royal and Dutch navies Church Pennants? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennant_(church) Just another odd bit http://www.historic-uk.com/HistoryUK/HistoryofEngland/The-335-Year-War-the-Longest-War-in-History/ I love this forum simple questions go off in all sorts of ways. The Thunder Box and it's place in English History, including the excecution of Charles the First is a whole history in itself.
  14. Goes back a lot earlier than WW2. The 'Polite' term was to refer to it as '' La boîte qui tonnerre' from at least the time of the Norman Conquest. :writing:
  15. You will ned to show a VCR exemptiipn to purschase one from dealear. Though if you can show ownership of MV or re-enactment and public liability insurance, which is part of the membership of many groups, your fine.
  16. Welcome in. We will now all be demanding Mate's Rates! :-D
  17. For those with a fondness for Beltring. A bit of preparation? :cool2:
  18. Would be a Realistic Replica. Covered by VCR. Check your De Ac certificate and it states very clearly 'A de-Activated Firearm ins NOT a Firearm. I had this argument with Met Police a couple of years ago, also took great delight in pointing out I had an exemption under VCR, so give me my bits of METAL BACK!! Took 6 weeks and various letters from High Parties. The repaeted bleat 'Our Guidlines' was dismissed as irelevant.
  19. New Spec is al moving parts welded solid, can'r be stripped.
