  1. I tried to find out years ago and a museum curator told me that no one knows how it was done but Dunlop was also mentioned.
  2. Does anyone know what grade of oil is used in the gearbox? Apart from 1 brake not pulling hard enough on 1 side, it is coming on nicely.
  3. Brilliant work. That should end up as an almost new motor, your mate would be proud of what you have achieved with the parts.
  4. Spot on, its for the small personal fire extinguisher in riot training & deployment, a bit like the bear sized pepper spray cans.
  5. That looks like Police issue but don't know what, possibly a radio holder. Is there a makers stamp on it such as PWL?
  6. Shame to see 7074 in that state. My Dad was skipper of 7073 on D-Day and after. Unfortunately that was scrapped after he was demobbed. He saw her in the breakers and was too upset to ask for the wheel or Bell, it was one of his big regrets. At least we have some charts and other stuff from the day. Dave
  7. I agree with Ferret. Practical easy to drive - no negative points at all.
  8. Is it only me that cant get any of your pics to appear?
  9. Selling without a cert is not a problem legally as long as the proof marks are visible but it will devalue the weapons for a lot of folk and reduce your market as well. Resubmitting is an option but that will cost a fee for each weapon submitted and they will also have to be deac'd to current standards. Value is impossible to state without more info on what exactly they are and the condition.
  10. Try Duxford workshops, at least one member on here used to work there
  11. I have a MK 2, when I next go down to it I will measure the dipstick for you. Dave
  12. I have just found this thread and read the whole lot. Absolutely brilliant effort guys. Inspiring. Apart from the hours and hours of labour, have you any idea of final cost? Dave
  13. At Beltring I cannot agree more, every chance and I was there. Last year at Folkestone I went in a couple of times but the commentary was played out to almost no one watching and flankly it was boring driving round in a small flat oval. This year I didn't go in once and I know that I was not the only one. I believe that if they cannot sort out the arena to attract more vehicle and viewing public, it will be the decline of the show.
  14. Its a DTV Shredder, you can buy them complete or build from plans. Generally they use a small Honda engine for power. They look like a lot of fun but bet it hurts when you fall off.
  15. Rob, I know that you have a FAC, do you restore all your stuff to live fire? Dave
  16. For the first time ever I didn't go the to arena once this year either as a spectator or with a vehicle. The only reasons were it is boring to drive around and no where to see it from. if there are no crowds to view the display it will fold very quickly.
  17. Heard at W&P from a very reliable source that a tyre mould has been made for Ferret Tyres with Bar grip not trac grip pattern which will be made with the correct ply and load rating. To be available soon.
  18. Na Mate, this one will be bigger.
  19. Is there anyone on HMVF that is able to pick up a crew tent from Gloucestershire GL16 7DF and either take it to W&P or bring it nearer Kent, so I can pick it up? Please drop me a U2U Cheers Dave
  20. Its not clear whether you mean to tow the Ferret on a trailer or with wheels on ground. It will ruin the internals unless you disconnect the driveshafts.
  21. Degsy, Best wishes mate. Out of all the replies, this has to be the one worth travelling to W&P for................. Cheers Dave
