  1. Maybe, but getting very old now. I have done a few miles in them which saved us many hours of walking in the snowy mountains of Scotland. Great piece of kit. Happy memories
  2. I have use sikaflex or the evostick equivalent (not normal evostick) with good results. Got mine from a motor factor.
  3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-35626854 One of the most skilled and humble gentlemen who served this country. It is one of my regrets that I never heard one of his talks. Bless him
  4. An early start will not help if the shops don't open until after 0800.
  5. Oh Dear, I can see bumping of heads approaching. If rent a guard tries to stop folk leaving it is unlikely to end well. Nothing I hear about this oncoming show fills me with desire to go. That's a shame.
  6. Thanks Chris - Told you I had not really looked at it yet...........
  7. I can see any attempt at lockin until Sunday pm, ending in real tears. How do you stop someone who has got an armoured vehicle from leaving? Oh dear oh dear, riot and torn down barriers etc. I will still go this year because of my mates but I WILL be leaving before 7pm Sunday.
  8. In my opinion, attendance has been down at W&P over the last couple of years and I don't expect a change this year. The online booking was still charging me full price despite being an IMPS member - when does the price change? Those of you who have booked. I should get round to doing it but almost cant be bothered if it were not for the rest of my mates going.
  9. Thanks for that, I will be gentle and patch test first
  10. Thanks folks, I never considered grate polish - didn't even know such stuff existed
  11. I have been fortunate enough to get a pair of WW11 deacs, a Lee Enfield and a Mauser rifle. They are very nice but tatty and some surface rust on the metal. I don't want to re-blue but just fettle them up a bit so what is the best way - fine wire wool dipped in oil & elbow grease, I will be taking the wood off to do it. Cheers
  12. After catching a little scrote trying to pull the external handles on the 432 suppression system (which was live), I packed the space around the handle with soft filler and taped the cover flap down.
  13. Without wishing to hijack the thread. Chris, do you know what sort of price they went for?
  14. Good luck with this one. I know people have had them made by engineering firms because there are none out there.
  15. Haynes manuals for The Merlin engine and The Harrier - very Happy. And loads of other bits
  16. I think they were classified so I would be surprised if plans were available but definitely fun to do. It was stuff like wheelchair motors that were used. I imagine that sourcing the roadwheels and tracks are some of the hardest bits to get but if someone knows a source then let me know as I have a project as well.
  17. Oh, by the way. The fines for running over width, over length or over weight vehicles can be very large and there is always VOSA who will pull something in and crawl over it. Those boys and girls certainly know their stuff and run their own prosecutions - ask any haulage operator.
  18. I agree with Chris on this one and excuse my poor attempts at cut and paste......... Tracked vehicles are not exempt from Con & Use regs and you will be in a whole world of pain should there be a problem that occurs on the Highway. Overall Width of Vehicle. This will be taken as the original manufacturers specification but might be subject to legal argument should a particular vehicle be modified to less than that figure. Regulation 8 Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 The overall width of a vehicle specified below shall not exceed : • a locomotive, other than an agricultural motor vehicle - 2.75 metres • any other motor vehicle - 2.55 metres The only way that it might be used and not considered overwidth is by looking at what category of vehicle it is registered as: The only category that might fit this would be Locomotive however, this is normally used for things such as cranes and Shielder would definitely not apply. Excepted articles are tools specific for the vehicle. Meaning of “motor vehicle” and other expressions relating to vehicles. (1)In this Act— • “heavy locomotive” means a mechanically propelled vehicle which is not constructed itself to carry a load other than any of the excepted articles and the weight of which unladen exceeds 11690 kilograms, • “light locomotive” means a mechanically propelled vehicle which is not constructed itself to carry a load other than any of the excepted articles and the weight of which unladen does not exceed 11690 kilograms but does exceed 7370 kilograms, I stand to be corrected on any of the above but I am certain that it is right. There have been threads in the past about 432 in particular having the same problems. The majority of police officers on patrol will probably not have any idea of legality beyond licence and insurance but an investigation will pull everything apart. Just my 2p. Dave
  19. David Crouch did have some scrapper 432's that might have the oil cap you want. Give him a bell
  20. Nice picture Andy. That makes it easy to follow................... How do they manage to put so much spaghetti in 1 box?
  21. I think the price is going to be lower than £48 for 10 in coming years
  22. Hi Deanna, welcome to the friendly forum. Loads of knowledge about various stuff on here. Where is home now - there is no place listed by your name. David
  23. I found the guy at Accurate Armour very rude and difficult to deal with and the price far outweighed the quality.
  24. Amazing work Andrew, how many in the team working on it? As an aside, I have just sold a Scorpion to your mate Phil and hope to come out and see you in a couple of years. All the best David
