The Elefant was captured in Italy, I don't believe it has run whilst in American hands. The Maus at Kubinka, is a combination of the hull from the first prototype & the turret from the second. It is an empty shell. The authorities at Kubinka were considering restoring it, but decided it would be an impossibility.

Do we know why they were buried there? Seems to be a lot of work, dig a hole, shove three (?) tanks into it & backfill.

Strange how these weapons of war, look like works of art, with all the polished brass.

Ever found anything "Free" that's worth having? Free websites mean endless pop-ups, ads & generally dodgy bits of code that'll spam the end users. For a simple history page, then Facebook could be the way to go, just remember that not everybody does, or indeed will, use it.

Check his feedback, check what else he's been selling, is this seat a strange thing for him to be selling? If you're buying off ebay, you'll get their buyers' protection too. If you're happy that he seems to be a genuine seller, then send the cheque by signed for delivery. If you don't get your seat, then raise a complaint with ebay. They'll have to prove that the seat's been delivered, so they'll need proof of delivery (Proof of postage isn't good enough) If that's no forthcoming, then they'll find in your favour & you'll get your money back. If anything, eBay's biased towards buyers. I had a buyer try & scam me last year. I was selling a gold watch, bought & paid for via paypal. Sent it through Royal Mail Special Delivery. The day after I'd posted it, got an email from ebay, that the sale should be cancelled, the buyer contacting me via eBay's messaging system to ask what's wrong? Nothing I say, watch's been posted. Then I get paypal freezing the funds, the buyer's closed their account, I get a non-delivery complaint raised. So, responded to that with the Royal mail's proof of delivery, to the buyer's registered address. Ebay OKs it all, money released. The only thing I wouldn't use Paypal for, is collection only items.

It's nowhere near complete. The demolition charges trashed the inside, post-war scrapping removed the gear box & all removable external items, like the armoured exhaust guards, hatches & track guards. You can see from back to front, peering through the exhaust apertures, you can see daylight through the bow mg Kugelblende. You can see the shattered remains of the engine. The engine deck's been replaced by a metal sheet. Having been sat outside for 72 years, the majority of that time being uncared for, in a wood by the side of the road, it's in quite remarkable condition. It certainly needs some better degree of protection, treating the internals with anti-rust treatment, better sealing to keep rain out & a decent paint job, but where else can you actually climb all over, free of charge, an authentic, WW2 German tank, let alone a Tiger?

£170,000 - 200,000? :wow: Really? Looks like it's a rare vehicle, but no service pedigree.
