  1. I agree with all of the above and would add this fact - the price of all MV's has gone through the roof. This is market forces at work - supply and demand dictates that so with that in mind, the hobby is looking great. We have to start to worry when prices of Jeeps fall below £10,000. I think we would have the equivalent of our own 'stock market crash'. I think with 70th anniversary of D-Day next year and the centenary of the WWI then we should expect a massive peak in interest of our history which will then take it on for the next 5 years. This has happened after every major anniversary and funny enough after every successful Hollywood blockbuster WWII film
  2. Off topic slightly but weren't the Standard Fordsons originally orange and because of that they become and great target for bombers whilst the tractors were at dockside? Or I have completely lost the plot on that?!
  3. I kind of think projects do Bill. If you had a good supply of them I think there is a good business to be had. If you look at a Jimmy for example it's going to cost you £2000 just to put NDT's on it. That's just over 25% of the value of GMC's so not much room there.
  4. We never had a clear answer for these sorts of questions in 8 years - they are a nightmare :embarrassed:
  5. Look at the colour of the bed - its perfect! God bless that kind lady
  6. Sorry Rick - I am here now! Thanks for sorting Richard
  7. No, but what it does mean Dave is that you are in front of the curve - you have been cutting edge for 35 years and didn't even know it!!!
  8. Well once in a while he lets me........apparently you are supposed to have both wheels down :coffee:

  10. I may have a cracked at this year! More than likely look like a young 007. - nailed smoking this year too!!!
  11. A massive congratulations Rose - that is an incredible achievement and huge amount of respect to you. A lot of work, determination, sacrifice, drive and self belief goes into such things. I am seriously so pleased for you mate!
  12. Hi Larry, I hear you and I am as sorry to hear about your loss, like all of us are. We can continue to post them in MV Chatter. If we had a board, I am sure we would upset folks if we removed their posts, if lets say, it was with regards to current conflicts. Warm reagrds, Jack.
  13. Shermans just attract them Vince - it's like you Ward La France guys go and sabotage them at night :coffee:
  14. Personally I am not comfortable with the idea. I understand it but I think it is a private matter. I think it is kind of fellow members to let us all know if we have lost someone, it is then up to us how we handle that on an individual basis. We need to keep focused on what HMVF is - a historic military vehicle forum. As I said above, I have no issues at all with folks postings up that we have lost someone but think we would lose a bit of dignity if we had a permanent board for it.
  15. Apparently 13 Shermans Snap but I think that also includes hulls etc.
  16. Sorry about that - I have put in for permission for a bigger carpark but it would mean losing a bit of the members golf course. The 19th hole is safe thou.
  17. The noise of those radials is so addictive :-D
  18. I have just be told by Jim that they have something 13 Shermans on/in/during the filming! Sounds like it's going to be a great film!
  19. FIVE! That's to many for any one man. Share them out Ian. - will send you my delivery address :coffee:
