  1. 750kg per side was a figure I gave in response to a similar question several years back by weighing a new link, so I'd agree! 🙂 Andy
  2. Fort Nelson is well worth a visit, once we're allowed to do such things. Andy
  3. I think this is Green Archer - sitting rotting away outside at Fort Nelson, or at least it was when I took the photo in April 2018: Andy
  4. Surely if it's "industrial use" it will attract business rates anyway, or does that depend on the opinion of individual councils? Andy
  5. The Irish (Eire) army have a real one - it visited Tankfest a few years back. Andy
  6. There is a fundamental problem that laws only affect the law-abiding, which seems to have escaped a number of people's attention. I'm surprised that there isn't a bigger issue with gun crime, bearing in mind how porous our borders seem to be when it comes to drugs. The average street criminal might have to make do with a Webley he bought in the pub, but I'm sure that any of the Eastern European gangs have no problem obtaining as many automatic weapons as they need. Andy
  7. That's not actually what the proposals say. Note the wording of Question 14: Q14. To what extent do you consider that the possession of component parts of ammunition with intent to manufacture unauthorised quantities of complete rounds of ammunition should be made an offence? The "intent to manufacture" phrase is key, I don't see that it would affect collectors of inert ammunition? Andy
  8. I've got one who supervises the gardening! Andy
  9. If doing this, make sure you stop the engine before removing the jump lead - the alternator control boxes rely on having batteries present to regulate their output. However, as has been said, bar the engine over first to make sure something isn't stuck. Andy
  10. This one, I think: Andy
  11. I certainly see what looks like a Racal RA943 log periodic antenna in that first photo - I've got one in my garage! Andy
  12. It would be interesting to know what was in the back originally. Andy
  13. You may have fun with the council planning people. I tried and failed to obtain planning permission for a building to store my MVs because no-one outside our "bubble" understands MVs, and the local council considers anything connected with them to be commercial. Andy
  14. It's probably just a re-badged Lucas/CAV starter, so I'd have a chat with an auto electrician or someone else who repairs them? Andy
  15. It just seems a bit odd if the batteries have enough oomph to start the vehicle and the charging system is maintaining 28.5V across them. Mind you, I've no idea how much current the gearbox takes. Anyway, you've fixed it now, which is what matters! Andy
  16. He might like to check the charging system as well, then? Andy
  17. Does anyone have a link to the actual SI? I can't find anything obvious. Andy
  18. What did Cook Defence say, out of interest? Andy
  19. In case you aren't aware of Internet etiquette, posting in all capitals is known as "shouting" and firmly frowned upon! 😉 Andy
