  1. Fix it up and drive it home (Ok, it might be a bit more complicated than that, but how hard can it be? Right?) ;-P
  2. I hope no one was hurt. Geez and we complain when it gets a bit wet during the summer!
  3. I'm still here. Nuffink exciting going on just now.
  4. Hi marvinthemartian , the layer looks more like a varnish or coating, I think amatikulu has solved it. Thanks guys ;-)
  5. I'm currently working my ferret fuel tank supports and have a question. One of them has a piece of shiny metal bonded to the vertical plate and others are covered in a brass coloured layer under the paint. I was wondering if anyone know what the brass coloured layer is and what it's for. The photos don't really show the colour very well.
  6. Looks like it's a case of sour grapes regarding your neighbour. I hope you have many happy years with your beastie.
  7. Reported to Craigs List. I doubt anything will happen.
  8. Just read this thread. Hope everything goes well for you.
  9. You can tow them, just not very far (for some reason 100 yards sticks in my head) without something making expensive crunching or springing noises ;-P Considering how often they seem to have been modified to suit, perhaps it's to allow it to be more easily recovered?
  10. Hi. Have a look at this site (among others of course) for lots of useful info, including the dreaded 'fuel tap position'. There was a long running debate on the yahoo ferret group about which side was the main and which was the reserve side. Hopefully this pic will help out. http://www.ferret-fv701.co.uk/useful_info.htm
  11. Makes me wonder if they are just following the handbook to the letter or if someone actually thought that was going to help?
  12. I found this line a bit ominous "Russia announced it was suspending from its obligations under the treaty in 2007" Err......
  13. It works again thanks. Please thank him for his service from us. It was people like him that kept this country free.
  14. Interesting stuff, I like the blog too. I think the Museum of Transport in Glasgow has one of those bikes on show.
  15. Hi. Marcus Glenn have some B81 gaskets for sale http://marcusglenn.com/b81-head-gasket?filter_name=B81 Give them a call, if the B81 is not suitable, the chances are they probably have the B80 one floating around. Banister's is also worth a go. http://www.milweb.net/go/banister/ I've dealt with both in the past and both Marcus Glenn and Banister's are helpful and friendly

  17. Interestingly enough (ahem) I've just found a judgement regarding Randolph Laboratories v. SPECIALTIES DEVELOP. CORP. dated 1954 https://casetext.com/case/randolph-laboratories-v-specialties-develop-corp-4 The information I can find seems to indicate that they were used up to the late 1960's I know it's not ideal but hopefully that will give you some more info to continue your quest.
  18. Heck time for a road trip! Wonder if my Astra can tow it? ;P
  19. That's what I've been told for my ferret. The semi synthetic (and multigrade) would be broken down by the innards of the gearbox in use and not be able to protect it.
