Great pics Thanks for sharing At least it has not been melted down for kitchen utensils. I hope that is not the cooking pot:??? Was it built in Australia? Mike
  2. Cut it out and weld it into a new one:D Good to see you are able to get back to stuff. Mike
  3. Welcome in. You sound familiar must have come across you elsewhere. I have a 109 FFR so that could answer that one. Mike
  4. Welcome in. Totally agree with that. Driving should be just that, driving. It's more fun that way. Oh and of course easier (and cheaper) to fix. Mike
  5. Keep up, They moved the Bank Holiday to the following weekend to stop it clashing with all the good events. Mike
  6. Very nice Land Rover you have got there. Whats all the shed envy about? Oh I see now, its not overcast with red light columns. Mike
  7. Rumor mill seems to be strong on this one. Even got on the One Show tonight By all accounts only 5m down on only located by hearsay and ground penetrating radar. And they still have not published the book on P9374. Mike
  8. Yupp that was Duxford September 2010 there were actually 15 flying Spitfires and 1 Seafire, but that is a technicality. There was another "spare" on the ground. The BBMF also turned up with 1, so that was actually 18 airworthy Spitfires that day. Since then I believ another 2 have taken back to the air and the BBMF have a 6th one due to fly this year. The PRX! version was not there. Would seem they are getting a bit common:D One report I read claims the Burma ones are Mk XIV Mike
  9. Rumour has it the lost thread is buried in shoe box in field in Dorset:D Mike

So have you also gone for the threadbare/holy duvet cover/sheets. Or is it a camo net? Sand bags for pillows Mike
  11. Can also highly recommend Rudolph Mike
  12. Yes I believe it does. Quite a few do this as it is kind of a security thing. Mike
  13. I thought it never go to fly because of budget cuts axed the whole project. Just checked the planes history on the Cosford site and there was a last minute delay due to a faulty fuel pump. Mind you the 6 months repair after falling off the back of a lorry probably did not help either. http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/collections/aircraft/aircraft_histories/84-A-1171%20TSR-2%20XR220.pdf It's great here, you learn something new everyday. Apparantly they could not find the warhead, so its safe. Apparently a witness remembers an airburst in 1944. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17572030 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17576274 Mike
  15. Of course at least us blokes candrive and sew buttons on our shirts. Mind you I cannot understand why we would need to sew on a button, after all that would be making others unemployed:D Mike [video=youtube;jCMpdB-W48A]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=jCMpdB-W48A
  16. There were quite a few earlier on. One chap was selling them seperate from the boxes by the end of the day. I also noticed people packing up at 14:00, can understand if you have nothing left. There was a 1945 stamped WD jerry can amongst the farm machinery.. Clansman was a bit thin compared to last year. Spotted a few Larkspur bits though. Series bits seem to be getting a bit thin on the ground. However there were 2 Series radio battery boxes. The one Colin had kindly put in for me, and another being used to prop up some Disco parts. Did not come away with much, but did manage to pick up a complete S3 instrument panel for £22 (with all instruments, switches and lights. Only really wanted the plastic housing. Oh and it was 24v so have a complete set of spares. Best laugth of the day watching some bloke trying to move 10 jerrycans on a sack barrow. Oh and 2 of thoe RWMIKs heading West on the M4 as I was heading home. Mike
  17. Yes I have a multi region (chipped) one. Got it when DVDs were new in th UK. You remember you had a choice of about 4 films at about £20 a shot. But you could get Region 1 for half the price of the net. Many can actual be "hacked" to allow different regions. http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/hackable.asp You got to be carefull with computers. Not sure if it is the same, but my previous PC allowed you to change the Region settings but after so many changes it would lock in that region. Mike
  18. Depends upon the DVD. North America is coded Region 1 We are codes Region 2 There is some sort of code that prevents one region playing on a machine coded for another region. This vasically applies to Movies and TV series, so they can release them in one country while not in another. They should have a symbol on them denoting the reion, generally a globe with a number in it. If it is Region 0 or Region Free it will play anywhere. If it is one you have recorded/made your self it should also be region free. Hope this helps Mike

Thank you You may be right. However I believe that an underwater explosion has a lesser effect over distance. Something to do with water being denser than air. Then again don't trust me all my science/physics comes from watching Mythbusters. However I did find this site a month or so back whilst "bored" (at work) http://londonist.com/2009/01/london_v2_rocket_sitesmapped.php Been updated for this one. Mike
