  1. You cannot knock Jack on not saying anything. After all it is all to do with the build up to D-Day. So don't forget CARELESS TALK COSTS LIFES Mike
  2. Neil They would sound like capillary ones to me. Mine has electrical ones and they are just wires like the fuel guage. Can you remember what you had when you swapped the motor over? What have you got on the engine. Capillary or electric senders? Did they work before? If so you may have found another change. Mike
  3. Looking good. Hope it lives up to expectations and you get plenty of use from it. Mike
  4. Rosie You are obviously a very kind persom. Most women would make their husbands promise to take them to see the show in London as it involves a few nights away. Mike
  5. Not sure it can be jobd for the boys are making more money. Some garages are doing MOTs for less than they have to pay the powers that be. So how does that work? Changes are/were needed as vehicles become more advanced/complex. Drove a Passat with an electronic hand brake last year and it was bloody useless. They have still not done what should be done. All cars should have an MOT every year and not this 3 year exemption from registration as new. Just because a car is under 3 years old dows not mean it is well maintained and roadworthy on one day of the year. Mike
  6. Very hard to tell, have looked at the shadow detail and what there is appears to be matching. Looking at overlap details show no obvious aberations. Have to go with it being a real picture. As Yorkie370 points out when using a long/telephoto lens you get "image distortion" in the form of compression as such an object further away will appear much closer. As such the seperation between the aircraft is greater than what it appears to be. Oh yes short/wide angle lens have the opposite effect fo this, hence you can use them to give cars long bonnets and models legs that go on forever. Mike
  7. Totally agree I think it is a good idea knowing roughly where in the world people are. Mike
  8. Who/what do you use for your email? Is it all held on your PC or web based? This might be helpful http://www.switched.com/2011/02/24/what-to-do-email-account-hacked/ Mike
  9. They probably villl be OK still, but only if you can catch them.:-D Mike
  10. Thanks folks. At least I know what it is cannot work out why it was mounted so low down the inner wing (or even on what was a late truck) As I am fitting clansman I will take off, tag and bag as it may come in useful some day. Mike
  11. No idea what happened there then, is in my EMLRA sent items lets try it from here. Mike
  12. Thanks Clive at least I know what it is. Will probably take it off and put somewhere safe. Mike PS: Have sent you a PM via EMLRA.
  13. So would Larkspur have been installed on a late S3 truck with the recessed pockets? Had both wings and it is only on RH wing nothing on LH. Mike
  14. OK for what aerial/cable? The wing came of a truck that I was told was 1983 and has the rececessed tray with the spade flap on for the 2 cables that go to the Clansman TUAAM. These cable would not fit this. Mike
  15. I have a mystery object, well it is to me anyway. It is fitted to the inside of the RH front ring from a Land Rover S3 109 FFR. I don't have one on the current wing So what is it? Mike
  16. Yes I have heard of this one. He phoned my mother-in-law using the same excuse. He was very insistent that she had a computer problem and that it was imperative that she did what he said. However was totally stumped by her response "I don't have a computer" Mike
  17. Chassis looks a bit "special" going by pictures on a gearbox removal thread. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?27625-removal-Snatch-LandRover-Gearbox&highlight=snatch Mike
  18. What you mean you have not had the remote confiscated and the TV jammed on the X factor!!! All I can say is "You lucky, lucky B.........." Mike
  19. I wonder where he got that idea Mind you going out armed with a banana can be dangerous. Mike [video=youtube_share;piWCBOsJr-w]
  20. Found this http://www.break.com/index/javelin-missile-misfire-in-afghanistan-2225837 Made me laugh anyway Mike
  21. Surely you mean it will make maintenance harder for Jack It takes 2 jands to hold It will take him hours to find the right tool It is all metric so it won't fit. Oh yes I see what you mean now. Due to the above he will be to busy to do any "maintenance" so nothing will get broken. A win win situation:D No USB stick - So that's the forum safe:D Mike
  22. Excellent find. though anything is better than the fiX-factor and I am A celebrity. They are less entertaining tha watching paint dry. Mike
  23. I bleieve there were quite a few aerodynamic cars built with them. http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Tom_Beatty's_Belly_Tank_Lakester http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Bill_Burke_and_Don_Francisco%27s_P-38_Bellytank http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Bill_Burke%27s_P-51_Bellytank Mike
  24. Just encountered a problem. Was trying to access All Charged Up 3 in Clive's Corner The link is throwing up an error page with this message. [h=1]Page not found![/h] The requested page: /pdf/ALLCHARGEDUPPart3.pdf could not be found, Jack must have lost it somewhere... Also doing it with Part 2 and 1. Others seem OK Mike
  25. Came across this today. Would appear that the latest proposal is to make vehicles, pre 1 January 1960 MOT exempt. http://www.dft.gov.uk/consultations/dft-2011-27 Mike
