1. I bet the squaddies were far from impressed......... especially when the statement says "all" twice
2. nice..... I like the Iveco truck that is similar also
3. One of these days I have to be in the UK when this is on. Is there any expectations on how big it is going to be i.e. will it surpass previous years? The venue looks great and I guess security will be a lot better than the previous, jump across the creek venue.
4. Looking great.... can't wait for the you tube video
5. Pity there isn't any spare Irish Acmat truck cabs around Finally figured out where the fuel tank goes in a VCT, pretty much behind the pioneer rack. A RHD VCT-20 Abandoned in Chad
6. :bow:very, very nice resurrection of a scrap vehicle to show standard............. really amazing patience, dedication and workmanship.
7. :thanx: that's a useful site. I was going to keep an eye out at Withams but may as well get one of these. If money permits I have to pick up 2 tirfors with rope whilst in the UK also (One for me and one for a mate). Hopefully Withams will have a tender that week.
8. I was thinking it would suit my Acmat Anyone got a parts manual for it as I is a visual person :nut:
9. So the pin in the middle slots into a special fitting, bearing or a bit of pipe? What is something like that worth?
10. ok looking at the pictures again, it seems most or what should be there is still there, they have just made up weird handles. I am guessing if you get the correct controls and refit, including for the overdrive. A good trick I heard for the overdrive is to engage it in neutral and remove the handle as a theft deterrent. The overdrive handle gets mounted on the side of the tunnel. I have a fairy overdrive manual, well and a LW manual if you need one. What is much better is a Legs overdrive transfer case but I think legs is not open anymore
11. Ok the Acmat has a nice winch on it and unladen at 4500kg and loaded 6500kg What rating snatch block should I be looking for? So much easier with a Land Rover, you buy it in the set
12. I got this reply from Acmat last night: "The 1983 Irish vehicles were originally built with dual braking circuit (EEC regulations)"
13. so would the front housing be the same with the original pin setup or is the whole box different?
14. that "I think" is mounted on the pto slot. If you take that black plate off with four nuts, you should see the lever should move a doughnut gear back and forth to engage and disengage Most likely is an overdrive but looks bigger than the one I had. The 4x4 is on a pin which is just before the front prop shaft

18. I dug thru and found the MV ones
19. I think you are spot on as I went back into where it was shared from and it's Russia military. A few more what were they thinking shots
20. What is it?
21. As what others have said, I hope everyone involved is healthy
22. Something MV and French........ Interesting watching the engine coming out and going in, I guess no oil in it
23. I been having much discussion with the suppliers in France regarding a brake upgrade and if my truck has a single circuit or a dual circuit. Nervous, as a brake upgrade can only be done at the factory for around $6000 eu. To increase my level of worry the 1983 parts manual for the Irish Acmat shows a single system. Digging through Sean's Acmat rebuild http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?692-ACMAT-VLRA-4-20-SM&highlight=acmat you can see the 2 hydraulic reservoirs on his donor chassis (indicating a dual circuit system). However I do not have a clear photograph under the hood, so could not confirm. Better for me was this chassis shot of Sean's that shows two air receivers. Thankfully I can just see the two receivers in one of my photos so looks like I am ok. The joys of trying to rebuild a MV in the UK when I am in Malaysia . The other interesting bit is were the Irish ones upgraded at some point as if Acmat is correct then an '83 model should be a single circuit
