  1. The problem with Shielder is that while the wheels are the same as CVRT, you'll need Stormer track and sprockets. The gearbox is unique to that variant and not the same as CVRT or Stormer. I'm not sure how many parts are common between the engine and a diesel CVRT either. If you look on thexmod.com for SHD you'll find a selection of parts, but you may not like the prices as they are not aimed at collectors!
  2. I have tested a few wheels which have been re-rubbered and they have lasted well. I do not know the company who put the rubber on but if you have wheels to do I can put you in touch (unless Andy seees this)
  3. I saw the programme and looked into this. You can find some excellent vehicles on the US surplus auctions for good prices. The problem is only US citizens can bid and then there is the export to deal with. I am sure there are ways around it. Chris
  4. Where are you located and how did you come by them? This may help us identify what they came from.
  5. CVRT gearbox seal. Is it for sale?
  6. I used white smooth finish hammerite on mine.
  7. Hi Bob, I will take them. Will send a PM. Chris
  8. Jeff, the diesel Scorpion owner, is the guy who made it into the papers and on the news back when he bought it. I think he likes the media attention and is maybe hoping someone will give him a free gearbox?
  9. Removal of alternators is easy if you know how! I've taken out loads. The trick is to get a track pin, cut off the threaded potion and slightly round off the edges. You can then insert it into the cap screws, tap it in with a hammer or mallet and turn it with a spanner. I got the process down to 10mins with this method, even with the engine in place. Yes the brackets are fitted to the alternator before it goes in.
  10. If you can't get the shafts out or the plungers won't move you can always remove the final drives first.
  11. Have you tried Green Machine Surplus? I can remember him having a pile of them about 15 years ago..!
  12. All the info you need is on the forum somewhere.... http://www.hmvf.co.uk/pdf/NATOparts.pdf Chris

That is from a YouTube show called Roadkill. In another episode they drive a Chieftain over a Prius. I have been watching it for years.
  14. The last coat is not light brown, that's faded NATO green with black disruptive pattern.
  15. The Scorpion ones are rubber mounded to a metal ring and bolt in, the Fox/Sabre Has at least one which is s rubber strip which is glued in place.
  16. Hi 'Fort', You would need to find out if it is still in service, hundreds of them are. The majority of those which have been sold off over the years have ended up scrapped. Only a small number have ended up in private hands. Chris
  17. It's a big yard, I'm sure they're there somewhere. They also have other storage locations.
  18. They belong to Withams and have been there a long time. I'm sure they'd sell you one if you asked. Chris

  20. The light doesn't go out and there is no timer. I usually give it about 5 seconds but I have no idea what the manual says.
