  1. Pretty sure the parcel issue got sorted 9 years ago?
  2. There may have been a timer originally, but all of mine keep flashing until I turn them off.
  3. Robin, Withams would not have bothered drilling holes in them, I have been in and bought many vehicles from there which were full of water, including Al's Scimitar which had water about 12" deep in it when I first saw it! Most owners have drilled holes in them when restoring them, I have done it to most of the ones we've had. The petrol Spartan came from the MoD with some holes already drilled in it. Glad the horrible noise was just the fan bearing. At least it didn't fall to bits while out on the road like mine did once! Chris
  4. Firstly do you have batteries in the turret basket battery boxes? Are they charged and connected? Is the turret power switch on? Do the interior lights come on? If the answers are all yes, unplug the power cable from the bottom of the IB3 and use a multimeter to check you have 24-28volts. Take the incorrectly positioned 12 way plug out the attic socket on the IB3 and plug it in to the one below it. Turn the IB3 on. Do you have a green pressel box and a headset? You need to plug this into the CB2 next to the turret fuse box. Set the top knobs to ICA and live IC. You should be able to press the pressel box and hear yourself in the headset.
  5. You need to prove the year of manufacture. The MoD will be able to give you a copy of the service history with this information. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/body/mod
  6. They stopped giving out 654s for armoured vehicles a while ago. You’ll need to put in a freedom of information request for the date in service with the MoD. Once you have that you can get it verified by the MVT and go from there. I have done several CVRTs but none of the wider ones. It’s getting more difficult and the last one was a struggle but I got there eventually. I would say you need to carefully read the construction and use regulations which were applicable at the date it was manufactured and satisfy yourself it meets the requirements. If they reject your application for not complying you need to be able to state why and how it does. Chris
  7. Robin, I would say the noise is likely to be the fan rather than alternator. You need to take the belts off and give everything a wiggle. Jumped belt could be the tensioners are loose or bearings gone in those? Chris
  8. I'll have a look tomorrow and maybe start a new thread to see if we can identify them all.
  9. There are more than 20 but less than 50 from memory. I did start a list a long time ago. Of course there are lots of vehicles hidden away in sheds that are not well known so there could be more.
  10. Or read the other threads on this subject where the green circle or star has been mentioned dozens of times.
  11. Thanks Andy. Do they have the 01FDxx to 08FDxx missing from the original release spreadsheets? Chris
  12. Ron, I assume you have turret batteries connected and the turret master switch is on? The turret electrical installation isn’t too complicated so there shouldn’t be much wrong. Take some photos of the turret, boxes, RBJ etc and post them here. I’ll see if you’re missing something obvious. Chris

    New Format

That's a real shame. The forum does just about everything the old one did and in an almost identical way. All the functions are still there. What exactly about the new forum (other than it's just 'different') are you struggling with?

    New Format

I actually quite like the new format, the unread content page lets me see some of the content in a post so I can decide if I am interested enough to click on it or not. At the end of the day Joris spent many hours updating the software, he didn't do it for fun. The old software was obsolete and no longer supported by the developer. If we had a major issue with it the forum might have been gone for good. I'm sure everyone will get used to this format before too long... or maybe we should just go back to type writers?
  17. Interesting, thanks for posting. Can’t see 01FDxx to 09FDxx anywhere though? Chris
  18. There is a bleed point on each radiator, just undo the bolt and wait until water comes out. There is also one on the water pipe which goes across the engine to the heat exchanger.
  19. Have you bled the air out of the cooling system?
  20. You’re not giving us much to help us help you out!
  21. You should be able to give that military registration number to the librarian at the tank museum and get a copy of the history cards and a letter confirming date in service, for a small fee.
