  1. I have found these paints to be very good: http://www.paints4trade.com/military-vehicle-paints-104-c.asp
  2. If the headsets have a slider from open to closed on them I doubt they are ANR ones. Post a few photos to help ID them. Chris
  3. The Chris you mention is probably me. What can I help with? Chris
  4. Does the fuel pump tick? It should tick fast then slow down. If doesn't run at all I would start there. If it doesn't slow down check for air leaks.
  5. That's a standard FV pattern headlamp, same as fitted to most post war British vehicles and armour.
  6. We will be there as usual, CVRTs heading down next week. I am expecting it to be quieter as most people I speak to say they aren't going, but it's a week away from work playing with the toys and I'm looking forward to it.
  7. And you still haven't learnt your lesson Vince!
  8. I think it's unlikely that these certificates of conformity even existed when the truck was built.
  9. I wouldn't worry too much about filling in every box, just fill in what you can. I've never had to supply a C of C or been asked for one.
  10. The Scimitars and Sabres were not released with the Rardens in them, but most of the Foxes were.
  11. Hi Dale, Thanks for the offer, but I don't need any Spartan parts as I've just broken one for spares. Does £20 plus postage sound ok? Or I can bring to Folkestone. Chris
  12. There's a couple about at the moment: http://www.milweb.net/webvert/a1998 http://www.milweb.net/webvert/a1997 http://www.milweb.net/webvert/a1938
  13. With those last few jobs done, levels checked, wheel nuts torqued up and it was ready for its first outing. We were asked to provide a few vehicles for a local armed forces day show in Ripley, Derbyshire. In total the Scimitar did around 30 miles on the roads over the weekend, it runs and drives well but the handbrake drags a bit causing some smoke. I will back it off next weekend, give it a clean and then it's ready for a trip to Folkestone. See you there!
  14. Last few jobs, Bowman external connection box fitted.. More holes drilled for that. Turret basket assembled, not complete but enough to make it usable. I also put a set of crew boxes in for the intercom.
  15. Does anyone recognise this or know what vehicle or equipment it was used with? I have had it for years and am having a clear out. I'd like to reunite it with whatever it belongs to! Chris
  16. Yes, that's us, the guy opposite you is also a friend of mine! Chris
  17. Hi Tom, I have a 43 GPW in need of a lot of work in my parents garage round the corner from you in Sandiacre. Welcome to HMVF. Chris
  18. If I had more time maybe, trying to get everything ready for W&P at the moment.
  19. There's actually another armed forces day in Ripley on 2/3 July. We are taking some CVRTs. Chris
  20. Running out of days, but at least the list is getting shorter! Rarden Cannon mocked up and now painted. Today I was able to get a coat of green on everything, finally got rid of the yellow bits! Number plates made too, still got turret bin armour to finish off and some rear reflectors, and the seats etc inside. Looking forward to getting this done and actually drive it. Next project is already waiting quietly in the background. Chris
  21. They are off the bar mine layers. Doubt you'd would ever want to fit them to a Land Rover!
  22. To answer your other question, if unsure about the history of the cam belt best bet is to change it.
  23. I have never seen one of those before, surprised you were able to get that.
  24. Sounds like you need to invest in this: http://www.greenmachinesurplus.com/cvrt-all-variantsmodification-instruction-and-index-1251-p.asp
