  1. Make a request here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/body/mod quoting the registration number.
  2. The hull number is on the rear near the towing eye, it’s on a small tag welded to the hull and will be SCOxxx. 48ATxx and 49ATxx were allocated to the RAF regiment CVRTs.
  3. Ted, Your vehicle will have been allocated that number when it was uparmoured in the 70s so you won’t be able to find out the earlier history. Chris
  4. Sent it to you in an email. Chris
  5. Do you have Andrew Bakers number? He’s converting petrol vehicles to diesel so probably has petrol ones going spare.
  6. I don’t have a spare anymore, but are you looking for a petrol or diesel vehicle?
  7. 1 picture = 1000 words, but I’ll leave you to it now. Good luck. Chris
  8. I think it’s not sold because people can’t see what they are buying, and this is especially true if you’re thousands of miles away. If you were going to send cash across the Atlantic you’d want to see the engine bay, that it has both seats, which bins and brackets are fitted, does it have the radio trays, intercom etc? All easy answered with 10mins and a digital camera.
  9. Hi, I see you've advertised this loads of times now with no joy, can I make some suggestions? You might want to take some better photos showing the inside, the engine bay etc. Maybe consider fitting the number plate lamp and the centre bin hinge to make it look more complete. Can you take a video of it running and driving? Upload to YouTube and post a link. Maybe write a better description, what has been done, what needs doing? What kit comes with it? Chris
  10. I know this is off topic, but the uparmoured ones have an air gap filled with foam between the hull and the steel plate. If you drill a hole through it the cavity could fill with water which would be bad!
  11. Leaving a bolt out of the inspection plate is a good idea, if you have one.....
  12. The steering brake discs can easily become contaminated with the oily mess that collects in the gearbox bay when it gets rained on. I always keep a spare set of pads and a can of brake cleaner in one of the front bins for this purpose.
  13. You don’t ring, you post your advert and people can send you offers.
  14. Have you tried www.shiply.com? I used it to get a good deal on moving an M151A2 from Lisbon in Portugal to Nottingham a few years ago. Chris
  15. I bought a solenoid to replace a dodgy one on a 432 we had. When I came to swap it I discovered a damaged wire on the existing one, connected it back up and it was fine after that. Sold the solenoid when we sold the 432 though so no longer have it. Chris
  16. I didn’t use the word tag anywhere in my post?!
  17. Hi, I think your advert might be more successful if the title contained a bit more information about what you’re looking for rather than your user ID. Would you like some help changing it? Chris
  18. I've done it, check the original thread and your phone number is gone.
  19. There is, you can click the heart icon on the bottom right corner of the post. Back to the original post.. I don’t think we need to continue this thread anymore.
  20. Just outside Rugby. http://afvsociety.com/
  21. You are missing the power distribution box and the instrument panel. The diesel instrument panel has a number of differences to the petrol one, but the distribution box is common to both. Your best would be to contact Andrew Baker of the Alvis Fighting Vehicle Society. He is away in Africa at the moment but will likely be able to help you with parts if you turn up at his shed with some cash. Chris
  22. Doesn’t look too bad. Ferret parts are starting to get hard to find and expensive, but you should be able to rebuild the wheel station. Brakes are a standard job if it’s been sat a while. All the big bits are there, the bins etc can be repaired.
